A BIT ABOUT ME
Personality:
Marley has the happiest carefree nature.
Marley adores all people and dogs and just wants to play in typical puppy form sometimes forgetting that not everyone has that puppy exuberance.
His affectionate and gentle temperament make him the ideal family companion.
Behaviour:
Marley is a typical bulldog puppy, full of energy and with lots to learn his favourite game is to follow your every move.
Marley will need ongoing training and boundaries in place in his new home to ensure he reaches his full potential.
Marley loves toys, he will allow his people to take a toy from him, but he will guard them from other dogs in the home.
Marley loves rough play and can be mouthy during play.
Marley can guard his food from other dogs so must be fed separately.
Needs:
Marley needs an active family environment.
A family who understands the needs of a puppy and can put in the training and time Marley needs to reach his full potential. Firm boundaries are a must.
Training will ensure to build close bond between Marley and his people.
A garden is a must for Marley.
A laid-back and playful dog in the home, to teach him the ropes and keep him company.
Walk/exercise:
Marley loves his walks.
Walks were slowly introduced to Marley due to his broken leg; he will need ongoing training as he matures.
Marley walks well both in company and alone, he does like to be the lead when walked as a pack.
Marley is happy to meet unfamiliar dogs and people whilst out.
Toilet trained:
Typical Puppy Marley can have the occasional accident.
Travel:
Marley travels very well, because of this we will accept applications of up to 4 hours from his current location.
We recommend using a seatbelt restraint or travel crate whenever transporting dogs.
**TRANSPORTING DURING WARMER WEATHER IT IS IMPORTANT TO KEEP THE CAR AS COOL AS POSSIBLE**
Things to be aware of:
Marley will be adopted on a “to be neutered” contract. He will be recalled Jan 2026 to be neutered at a vet of the charity’s choosing cost covered by the charity.
Marley was admitted to GBSR following a serious fracture to his right front leg.
Due to the fractured leg Marley sustained prior to GBSR he may suffer with arthritis in his later years, we would advise Marleys adopted family to give him joint supplements to support his joints.
Marley is not yet at the age (18months) where he is fully grown and his growth plates fuse. Due to the damage caused by the fracture it is not known if Marley’s leg will grow, or if he will need further intervention. Should Marley require further treatment this will be the responsibility of his adopted family. The charity will support and offer guidance throughout Marleys life.
Sometimes Marley is excited to play but doesn’t realise his strength, any young children in the home must be supervised, as Marley has the potential to jump and knock children over.
Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted.
Additional information from Marley foster family:
Marley is an amazing dog, we have loved having him, there hasn’t been a day go by that he hasn’t made us laugh!

Marley’s Story.
9 month old puppy beaten and left with devasting leg injury
Everyone Meet #Marley – long post
Marley is the sweetest, tiniest, and most demure puppy you will ever meet but he is hiding 9 months of pain and suffering in his eagerness to please and to not be beaten or abused anymore.
Back story
Marley was rescued from a life of neglect, being crated for hours and hours, being beaten and suffering a devastating leg injury … so let us take you into his previous life for a moment.
Marley is only 12 kilos and is totally defenceless. He has suffered physical abuse which has left him scared and very meek.
About 4 weeks ago, he suffered a huge impact on his front leg, the force was so great that his foreleg bones have been projected upwards and sheared off part of his elbow …..And there the bones stayed, he was NOT ATTENDED TO, he was LEFT TO SUFFER in terrible pain – it’s so horrifically cruel, it turns our stomachs thinking of it
We were contacted by K, who managed to get Marley away from his abusers and asked us to help him
On Sunday Carina Hill travelled to collect Marley (thank you so much for dropping everything to get him into foster, we appreciate it very much ) so he would get the best veterinary treatment, and we were able to see this tiny obliging little puppy for the first time ourselves – it was utterly heart breaking watching him struggle to walk
On Monday Marley went in for x-rays so we could understand the extent of the damage, and only then did we learn what he had suffered.
We have been in consultation with our preferred orthopaedic surgeons who have advised us that we are looking at a very complex procedure to plate and screw the leg bones back into place, especially as Marley is so young and still growing.
There will be a long rehabilitation period for Marley with x-rays, meds and physio – and there are no guarantees that the operation will be 100% successful.
In fact, we won’t know if his leg can be saved until the surgeons are operating. If they can’t repair the damage, he’ll need an amputation which will present its own challenges
The estimated cost of his care is around £4,000, including the surgery, x-rays, meds, physio, and follow-up care.
We can’t turn our back on Marley. He’s already survived so much. He deserves to walk without pain, to play like a normal puppy, and to feel safe and loved.
We will need to raise money for Marley so we can give him the full GBSR treatment so we’re asking for your help.
We are always so grateful for your support, we work tirelessly fundraising with walks, lucky numbers and the auction group etc but when when are presented with a puppy facing complicated surgery and a long rehabilitation, have no choice but to ask for help, so any donation, large or small would be amazing
Here are ways to pay, please use the Reference Marley, if you can
