Amy – In Foster – North East
Please join us in welcoming #Amy into the loving arms of her GBSR family
Amy was found living in a wooded area behind some buildings — scared, alone, and surrounded by signs that she had been there for quite some time . Thankfully, some kind-hearted workmen discovered her. They didn’t turn away; instead, they took her to the vets and shared her story online, hoping someone would step forward. They truly were Amy’s guardian angels
When her photo reached us, we knew instantly that she couldn’t go into kennels. Amy didn’t just need shelter — she needed love, warmth, and safety. Our amazing admin team jumped into action and quickly managed to track her down
The dog warden kindly agreed to let us take Amy immediately, as long as she remained under their responsibility for seven days — as required by law. Of course, we said yes without hesitation. We would have done anything to get her safe.
We had to move fast — not only for Amy’s safety, but also to protect our volunteers from travelling through the weekend storm. A huge thank you to Sharon and Amanda who answered our urgent call on Friday night and helped transport Amy to her foster home.
From the vet’s notes, we were told to expect her to be filthy, painfully thin, and likely recently post-litter. She also has a Grade 6 heart murmur, but what broke us most was learning how terrified she is of everything
Amy arrived safely with Hayley in the North East on Friday night, where she is now being showered with the love and care she’s been missing for so long. Hayley has also noticed scars on Amy’s head and face, scratches around her eye and muzzle, and cherry eye in both eyes
Amy arrived with absolutely nothing, not even a name. We have put together a wishlist for some items that will bring Amy some comfort and happiness…
The wishlist also allows extra gifts to be sent if there is a specific item you would like to send to Amy
Don’t worry, sweet girl — you’re safe now. You’ll never know fear, hunger, or loneliness again. Only warmth, kindness, and unconditional love from your new family
