A BIT ABOUT ME
Personality:
Skye is a little soul who has blossomed beautifully since arriving in foster care. After spending six long years living in a coal shed, the world was a brand‑new place for her, and she’s taken every step with quiet bravery and a huge heart.
She’s a gentle girl who thrives in calm, quiet environments and absolutely adores human company. Having someone nearby makes her feel safe, and she gives that trust back tenfold with her soft, steady presence.
She’s always been friendly with people, and although there were early worries that she might be unsure around men, she’s shown nothing but sweetness in her foster home.
Skye is a tender, loyal little companion who’s learning what it means to be loved—and she’s ready to share that love with a family who will cherish her gentle spirit.
Behaviour:
Routine has become a real source of comfort for Skye, and with a little consistency she’s made such lovely progress with her toilet training. She’ll happily go when she’s popped outside every couple of hours, and her daily walk helps her stay settled and dry right through the night. She’s been sleeping soundly for weeks now, curled up peacefully until morning.
Skye is also a complete toy enthusiast. She adores her Nylabones and soft toys, and she’s clever enough to find the squeaker every time. She even has her own little toy box and loves rummaging through it to pick out exactly what she wants. She’s wonderfully gentle about it too—never possessive, just delighted to play.
She’s very food‑motivated, which makes training fun, but she can be a bit quick to snatch if given the chance, so a home with older children might suit her best.
As for her voice, Skye may bark at unfamiliar noises or when someone comes to the door, but this has eased beautifully as her confidence has grown. She’s learning that the world is a safe place, and every day she relaxes a little more.
Skye’s behaviours are a sweet reflection of who she is—eager to learn, full of gentle quirks, and blossoming into the most loving little companion.
Skye has met the farm cats outdoors, and she’s handled it with the same gentle curiosity she brings to everything new. In the beginning she would try to chase them—more out of excitement than anything else—but with time and reassurance she’s learned to stay calm around them. One of the cats is a bit on the feisty side, so we stay mindful to keep everyone safe and scratch‑free.
We’re not entirely sure how she’d feel about sharing her home with a cat indoors, but her progress so far shows she’s willing to learn and adapt with patience and kindness.
Needs:
Skye is a girl who truly thrives in a calm, peaceful home where life moves at a gentler pace. She blossoms when the world around her feels steady and reassuring, and she loves being included in the simple rhythm of daily family life. She’s happiest when her humans are nearby, so a home where she isn’t left for long periods would suit her beautifully.
A secure garden is essential for Skye. On days when she’s not quite in the mood for a walk, having a safe outdoor space to potter about in gives her the freedom and comfort she needs.
Skye prefers to be the only dog in the home. She’s not comfortable sharing her personal space with other dogs, and she truly shines when she has her humans all to herself.
She’s a gentle soul who benefits from clear, kind boundaries and a family willing to continue guiding her as she learns what’s expected of her. With patience, reassurance, and love, Skye will reward her people with the sweetest companionship.
Walk/exercise:
Skye is still learning to enjoy her walks, and she’s doing it in her own sweet, steady way. We don’t think she had many walks in her previous home, so the idea of heading out can feel a bit unfamiliar to her. Sometimes she needs a little encouragement to get going—especially if the weather is wet, as she’s definitely not a fan of the rain—but once she’s out in the field, she really does enjoy herself.
She has a charming streak of stubbornness and loves to choose her own route, taking everything at a pace that feels comfortable and safe. She is walked in private fields, where she can potter about without the worry of other dogs, and this has helped her confidence grow. On the GBSR group walk, though, she absolutely came alive—she adored being part of the pack and would likely benefit from walking alongside other calm, friendly dogs who can help show her the ropes.
Toilet trained:
Skye is doing so well with her toileting routine, and it’s been lovely to watch her progress. With gentle consistency, she’s really finding her rhythm. She has hardly any accidents now, and she can happily settle from around 11.30pm right through to 7am without needing to go out.
She’s a little star who thrives when her routine is kept steady, and with continued patience and the same loving structure, she’ll only keep getting better.
Travel:
Skye is a wonderful little traveller. She absolutely loves riding up front where she settles in beautifully and watches the world go by with complete ease. She’s calm, relaxed, and seems to genuinely enjoy the journey, as if it’s her own special adventure spot.
She hasn’t travelled in the back or in a crate before, but when she’s in the front seat she’s the perfect companion—quiet, content, and happy just being close to her humans.
Because of this we will accept applications of up to 4 hours from her current location.
We recommend using a seatbelt restraint or travel crate whenever transporting dogs.
**TRANSPORTING DURING WARMER WEATHER IT IS IMPORTANT TO KEEP THE CAR AS COOL AS POSSIBLE**
Things to be aware of:
Skye is due to be spayed on the 16th March she will be available to go home after her 10 day vet check providing everything is well.
Skye suffers from allergies, she must stay on her current diet of Purina Hypoallergenic and have a controlled diet to ensure she stays in good health.
Skye is on apoquel medication for her allergies.
Sometimes Skye is excited to play but doesn’t realise her size, any young children in the home must be supervised, as she has the potential to jump and knock children over.
Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted.
Additional information from Skye’s foster family:
Skye definitely needs a 5* home with the past she’s had. She’s an absolute sweetheart and a total velcro dog. She wants to be with you all day and will follow you around whatever you’re doing. In the short time we’ve had her she’s certainly settled well. She loves her toys and has learnt to play and she loves her 3 meals a day. She needs ongoing toilet training but is doing fantastically and she thrives on a routine. She will sleep through the night.
She is an absolute brilliant dog which we’ll be so sad to see go but we cant wait to see how she flourishes in her forever home.
Skye’s adoption donation fee is £400 and will need to be paid in full prior to her going home which will also be subject to a home check.

Skye’s story.
Welcome Skye to the Geordie Bullies family
Before we introduce Skye properly, we want to gently warn you that her story is heartbreaking and difficult to read — but please stay with us so you can truly meet this brave little soul
Skye has endured a horrendous start to life and we thank the doggy heavens that she was saved from the clutches of those who were going to end her life for a failed breeding attempt.
For six long years she was used as nothing more than a money-making machine, forced to have litter after litter, with not a single penny spent on her own care
But it gets even worse. Skye has been abused in all manner of ways, leaving her with two missing teeth and plenty of scars, both on her body and no doubt her soul. She has painful, untreated ear infections, signs of a UTI, fur loss from untreated allergies, and overgrown claws that made every step uncomfortable. She has a cut lip and awful breath from having to eat her own excrement just to survive and stop herself from starving
Thankfully, someone heard through the grapevine about the terrible life Skye was living and stepped in to get her out. Sadly, because of everything she has endured, Skye struggled to settle in her new home
Her new owners reached out to us for help. They wanted nothing more than for Skye to finally have the life she deserves, and they knew that surrendering her was the kindest, most loving thing they could do.
Yesterday, Skye was collected by her foster mum, Anna — and already she is showing us that despite everything she has been through, she is the sweetest, most gentle girl
We would like to say a huge thank you to Anna for opening her heart and her home to Skye. We are so grateful to have you on your first foster journey with us
To Skye — welcome to the family, beautiful girl. From this moment on, you will only know love, warmth, safety and happiness. Your suffering is over now.
