A BIT ABOUT ME
Personality:
Odie is the definition of a true companion — a young boy who’s been through so much yet meets every new day with a wagging tail and a heart full of love. From the moment he arrived, he’s been playful, affectionate, and bursting with that irresistible young‑dog energy.
He has a heart of pure gold and lives to make his humans happy. Odie is incredibly loyal, happiest when he’s right by your side, and he finds being left alone a little worrying — he just loves his people that much. This sweet boy is ready to give someone his whole world.
Behaviour:
Odie is a bright, eager boy who thrives with guidance, and he responds beautifully to training. He’s a typical youngster who likes to test his boundaries now and then, but the moment he realises he’s pushed too far, he melts into the sweetest submission — offering a paw or rolling onto his back for a belly rub. He’s clever, sensitive, and genuinely wants to get things right.
He’s been learning to spend short periods alone, gradually building up from 15 minutes to a couple of hours, and he’ll often tuck himself into bed when he’s ready to rest. He’s not a fan of crates or being shut away, preferring his cosy bed in the hallway where he feels safe. Odie is an affectionate, attention‑loving boy. He can play endlessly, but when he’s done, he happily puts himself to bed.
He does show signs of separation anxiety and finds being left alone difficult, simply because he loves his people so deeply. Around children, he can get a little over‑excited and may accidentally overpower them during play, so he won’t be rehomed with anyone under 13 — not out of malice, just youthful enthusiasm and big feelings.
Needs:
Odie is searching for a calm, loving home with an active family who can give him the structure and routine he thrives on. He feels safest when he understands what’s expected of him, so confident training and gentle boundaries will help him shine.
He’ll need someone who’s home most of the time, as being left for long periods is hard for him — he’s a boy who loves company and blossoms with closeness. A secure garden with plenty of space to run, play, and burn off his joyful energy is essential.
Odie could happily live with a calm female dog or enjoy life as the only pet soaking up all the attention. Because of his boisterous, enthusiastic play style, he’s best suited to a home with older children aged 13+.
With the right family, this sweet boy will absolutely thrive.
Walk/exercise:
Odie is a lively boy with plenty of happy energy to burn, so he’ll need at least two good walks a day filled with play, interaction, and little training moments to keep his clever mind busy. Training is a wonderful way for him to exercise both body and brain, and he absolutely thrives on that one‑to‑one focus.
He walks beautifully on the lead, keeping his attention on you rather than other dogs, and he’s even enjoyed calm walks alongside another bulldog. He can feel a bit anxious around unfamiliar dogs, but with reassurance and gentle guidance, he does his best to stay brave.
With the right routine, Odie becomes the sweetest walking companion — loyal, attentive, and full of joy.
Toilet trained:
Yes, Odie is a good boy.
Travel:
Odie loves to travel, he will jump straight into the car and settle down. He loves to watch out the window.
Because of this we will accept applications of up to 4 hours from his current location.
We recommend using a seatbelt restraint or travel crate whenever transporting dogs.
**TRANSPORTING DURING WARMER WEATHER IT IS IMPORTANT TO KEEP THE CAR AS COOL AS POSSIBLE**
Things to be aware of:
Odie can not be vaccinated, unfortunately he has a severe reaction to them causing seizures.
Odie has had multiple procedures prior to coming into GBSR care, entropion / cherry eye / luxating patella and BOAS surgery. He is very much a happy healthy boy.
Odie requires a controlled diet to make sure his allergies are kept in check.
Sometimes Odie is excited to play but doesn’t realise his size, any young children in the home must be supervised, as he has the potential to jump and knock children over.
Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted.
Additional information from Odie’s foster family:
If you have a space in your heart and space on the sofa Odie is for you. He just wants love, security and a calm home from him you will get the most loyal loving dog you could wish for. He thrives on human contact and attention. He will offer you his toys to play with and roll over for a belly rub.

Odie!!
Odie has sadly been surrendered due to a change in his family’s circumstances. As always, we kindly ask for no judgement — only compassion and supportive comments.
These decisions are never easy, and our focus is on giving Odie the happy future he truly deserves. Odie was collected over the weekend by our amazing volunteer Simon and is now settling beautifully into foster in the South East.
At just 18 months old, he’s doing really well so far and has already started to show some of those lovely, bouncy puppy-like behaviours — all things we’ll gently neaten out with guidance, structure, and consistency. Initial inspections show he appears to be in relatively good condition, and of course we will be booking him in for his full health check over the coming days.
A huge thank you to Simon for once again opening up your home and heart — your kindness never goes unnoticed.
Please note that Odie has only just arrived in foster and is not yet available for adoption. Applications are not open at this time, so please don’t attempt to apply for him just yet. We’ll share his adoption poster once he’s reached the end of his assessment period.
Odie, your Springboard journey starts here… and we promise to love you every step of the way
