A BIT ABOUT ME
Personality:
Abby’s gentle and affectionate nature will have her seeking her person out for all the attention and affection they will give.
Abby may start of reserved and quiet, but she soon settles into her environment and her beautiful nature develops with a little patience and reassurance.
Behaviour:
Abby has been learning her basic commands whilst in foster. This training will need to continue in her new home and will help strengthen the bond between her and her new family.
Abby is slowly coming out of her shell and learning to play toys and her foster family. This will continue to thrive with gentle reassurance from her family.
Abby hasn’t initiated rough play at all- she loves cuddles and fusses instead
Needs:
Abby is crate trained, so it is preferable that her new family continue to use a crate at least during the settling in period as it is her safe space.
Abby would benefit from a home that balances activity and relaxation, somewhere she can have her snuggles and downtime while also enjoying play and bursts of energy with walks.
A family who can put in the time with her training to ensure she reaches her incredible potential.
A garden is a must for Abby to play and explore in.
Walk/exercise:
Abby loves her walks and responds very well meeting unfamiliar dogs and loves all the attention she gets from people.
Abby has been wearing a harness on walks to help control her pulling- no issues putting on and no issues with a collar.
Abby isn’t a fan on any small animals especially cats, birds and squirrels and will actively stalk them.
Toilet trained:
Yes, Abby is a good girl
Travel:
Abby travels well, because of this we would consider homes up to four hours away
We recommend using a seatbelt restraint or travel crate whenever transporting dogs.
Things to be aware of:
Abby will be going home on a spay contract, to be completed at a vet agreed with the charity, costs to be covered by the charity 12 weeks post season.
Abby is dog reactive in the home, because of this she will need to be an only princess.
Sometimes Abby is excited to play but doesn’t realise her size, any young children in the home must be supervised, as she has the potential to jump and knock children over.
Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted.
Additional information from Abby foster:
Abby is the most loving, gentle little girl. She thrives off human affection and asks for fusses by politely giving you her paw. All she asks for is love, belly rubs and a cosy place to snore her little head off. In return she adores you and showers you lots of love and cuddles.
As much as Abby enjoys spending her days snoozing with the occasional sniff of the garden, she also absolutely loves her walks! She comes to life once her harness is on and is instantly ready for her next adventure. She really gives you the best of both worlds- a snuggle buddy one moment and a best friend to enjoy making memories with the next.
The more Abby’s settled into our home, the more she’s shown her cheeky little personality which has been heartwarming to see. She’s slowly learning how to play with toys and will kick them over to you for you to engage in playtime. Don’t be fooled by her calm persona, once she knows its dinner time she turns into the Duracell bunny and does laps of the kitchen with excitement.
Abby (or Princess Abs as we like we call her) deserves nothing more than to find her happy ever after and have her own humans she can adore.
Abby’s adoption donation fee is £500 and will need to be paid in full prior to her going home which will also be subject to a home check.

A little of Abby’s story below,
Please welcome another beauty into the GBSR family Abby
Abby is a sad surrender unfortunately, her family weren’t able to offer her the life she deserves. When they asked if we would take her, of course we said yes. Please no judgement to the family, we respect their wishes and of course we are grateful they came down the right channel by finding us.
Abby is a 2 year old girl that has plenty of love to give, we are excited to see her progress on her journey with us.
Our fabulous volunteer Trish plaster and her family offered to collect and take care of Abby, so she was collected on a Thursday and is slowly decompressing at her new foster home, with foster brothers Monty & Herbie.
Thank you for taking her in Trish, we are confident she will settle for you and you’ll do the best for her. We are here to support you the whole way
To follow Abby’s journey, please see the link below. Once Abby has passed her assessment stage she will be available to rehome. We will let you know when
