A BIT ABOUT ME
Personality:
Apollo is a gentle giant, with the most affectionate nature and in typical bulldog fashion has perfected the bulldog deaf ear.
He adores his humans and will seek you out for attention and play.
Apollo loves to play, and balls are his absolute favourite.
Behaviour:
Apollo loves a bit of rough play with his foster dad but understands to be gentle with foster mum and the child in the home.
Apollo can be unsure of the dark especially with evening walks, but with reassurance his confidence has continued to grow.
Apollo may be shy and appear a little “homesick” initially, but once he starts to feel settled his charm and fun nature will shine through.
Needs:
Apollo needs a calm, but active family environment, with a family who will keep him involved with all that is daily life.
A garden is a must for this playful boy.
A calm doggy companion to keep him company when his humans are away.
Walk/exercise:
Apollo loves his walks; he likes to walk out front but does not pull.
Apollo happily interacts and will initiate play with unfamiliar dogs, but never ventures far from his human.
He isn’t the most agile of Bulldogs and prefers walks to be around 20-30 minutes.
Toilet trained:
Yes, Apollo is a very good boy.
Travel:
Apollo travels very well, although isn’t very agile he will need lifted into the car. Because of this we will accept applications of up to 4 hours from his current location.
We recommend using a seatbelt restraint or travel crate whenever transporting dogs.
Things to be aware of:
Apollo
Sometimes Apollo is excited to play but doesn’t realise his size, any young children in the home must be supervised, as he has the potential to jump and knock children over.
Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted.
Additional information from Apollo’s foster family:
It has been a joy to foster Apollo. He is a quiet, gentle soul who loves human companionship. He is affectionate with foster mum and loves playing rough and tug with foster dad. Oh and loves to tease you with his ball, just to see if you can take it from him, he has won that game each time.
Apollo’s adoption donation fee is £450 and will need to be paid in full prior to him going home which will also be subject to a home check.

A little of Apollo’s story below,
Please welcome Apollo
We were contacted by Apollo’s owners, who were being stationed overseas as part of our British Armed Forces. They were heartbroken that they were unable to take him and wanted him safe and in a family environment similar to what he has been used to
Colin and Alison Muir had very kindly offered to foster for us, and yesterday they collected four year-old Apollo.
It was a very emotional hand over but the owners know he will always be looked after by his springboard family
Thank you for entrusting your precious boy to us
So please, let’s welcome this little lad into his foster journey and his new life with GBSR
Welcome to your Springboard Family beautiful boy
Please don’t try and apply for Apollo as he will need a period of assessment and his neuter, but you can follow his journey on our Facebook Community Group
