A BIT ABOUT ME
Personality:
Arthur is a well-rounded young boy.
Arthur adores everyone people, dogs and even cats.
Arthur is a very affectionate boy always happy to be with his humans.
Behaviour:
Arthur is a playful and active boy.
He loves playing with his humans and playing with the other dogs in the home, with toys or chasing each other.
Arthur can bark to let you know there are people outside the home but will stop when told.
Arthur interacts with cats very well, although will pinch their food given half the chance.
Needs:
Arthur needs an active family home, one who can keep him involved in daily life and make sure he gets to enjoy daily walks.
A garden is a must as he loves to play.
Arthur will benefit from other dogs in the home; however, they must be accepting of other dogs.
Walk/exercise:
Arthur loves his daily walks; he can start off pulling but soon calms down, we would recommend on going leash work with him.
Should Arthur miss a walk he will let you know.
Arthur walks well as a pack or alone and isn’t fazed by unfamiliar dogs.
Toilet trained:
Arthur is a good boy, however, may have an accident if not let out early enough in the morning.
Travel:
Arthur travels well, because of this we will accept applications of up to 4 hours from his current location.
We recommend using a seatbelt restraint or travel crate whenever transporting dogs.
Things to be aware of:
Arthur will not be rehomed with any entire male dogs.
Arthur has had his cherry eye repaired which has healed beautifully. This is something his family will need to monitor for dry eye in the future.
Sometimes Arthur is excited to play but doesn’t realise his size, any young children in the home must be supervised, as he has the potential to jump and knock children over.
Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted.
Additional information:
Arthur has been an absolute pleasure to have in foster, he is a genuine young boy and everything you could possibly want in a bulldog. He will make the most amazing family pet.
A little of Arthur’s story below,
Arthur in foster – North West
Let’s welcome the very handsome Arthur into the care of our Springboard family!
Arthur is a 16-month entire boy who has been owned and loved since a puppy with his sibling (Albert), who is already in our care.
Arthur’s owner has a 3-month-old baby who is becoming very allergic to the dogs, so she has reached out to us for help, and we have agreed to keep them safe and take them into foster.
Thank you to Becky Lyons, who kindly collected Arthur for us.
Arthur has been introduced to Becky’s resident dogs, Harley and Maggie, and they appear to be accepting each other. As with all our foster dogs, we encourage slow introductions to allow the new dog time to decompress.
Arthur was initially unsettled last night, barking, so Becky let him into the same room with her two dogs, and he went on to have a settled night.
He’s been a very happy boy, full of bum wiggles, and he’s given his Fm his paw
Arthur has a protruding cherry eye gland that will need treating, and he needs to be neutered in due course, so he will be assessed at the vets this week and booked in ASAP.
So please join us in welcoming Arthur to a new chapter in his young life.
