A BIT ABOUT ME

Personality:

Ayda has the most affectionate and playful nature.

She is the happiest little girl full of mischief and playful antics that will keep you entertained.

Ayda loves her humans and will seek you out for company, to play and snuggle.

Behaviour:

Ayda is an energetic and playful girl, who likes to find ways to get your attention.

She is a mouthy and vocal girl but doesn’t have a bad bone in her body, Ayda likes to hold your hand or take you by the hand to something or somewhere she wants, but responds well to being told no.

As Ayda settles over the first weeks in a new family she may hump, this is anxiety and will stop once she feels settled and safe.

She is a cheeky girl that will need boundaries in place, so she understands where she fits in your home. She is eager to please and learn and has responded well to training especially when food is involved.

Ayda loves to pinch toys whether another dog is playing with them or not.

Needs:

Ayda needs an active but calm home environment, with a family who will celebrate and enjoy her mischievous side and has the time to continue training her.

A garden is a must as she loves the space to have a good zoomie.

Ayda adores children but needs a family who understands mouthing and how bulldogs are vocal in play, so these behaviours aren’t misconstrued as bad or aggressive.

Ayda will benefit from a laid-back but playful dog in the home, she will seek their companionship when her humans are busy. Any dog in the home must not have any possessive or guarding behaviours.

Walk/exercise:

Ayda is learning to like gentle walks; she would rather run around and explore her environment and play than walk on a lead.

Ayda walks well with the resident dog; she is happy to greet unfamiliar dogs and of course loves any attention she may get whilst out.

Ayda’s recall outside the home isn’t very good if she doesn’t want to listen.

Toilet trained:

Ayda is a good girl; she doesn’t bark to indicate she wants out but will stand at the door.

During the settling period Ayda may wet her bed at night, this is anxious behaviour and will stop as soon as she feels settled and safe.

Can be left:

Ayda settles very well in a crate; it is preferable that her new family will have a crate for her to keep her routine whilst she acclimates.

Ayda can be left for up to 4 hours at a time in her crate with something to chew on and keep her occupied.

Travel:

Ayda loves the car; she will settle on the back seat using a seatbelt restraint and watch the world go by.

Because of this we will accept applications of up to 4 hours away from her current location.

We recommend using a seatbelt restraint or travel crate whenever transporting dogs.

Things to be aware of:

Ayda is a larger lady who will need a controlled diet whilst she loses the excess weight.

Sometimes Ayda is excited to play but doesn’t realise her size, any young children in the home must be supervised, as she has the potential to jump and knock children over.

During play Ayda will mouth hands and feet.

Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted.

Additional information:

Ayda will be the most wonderful addition to any family, her inquisitive and mischievous nature will make the most beautiful memories for years to come. If you are missing the heart of your family, then look no further because Ayda is your girl.

Ayda’s adoption donation fee is £400 and will need to be paid in full prior to her going home which will also be subject to a home check.

A little of Ayda’s story below,

Please welcome the beautiful Ayda to our GBSR family!!

Ayda is an entire female of unknown age, sadly another little girl who found herself a stray and was picked up by a pound.

We were contacted by Paula at Pendle dogs earlier in the week about this little girl, with no name, and no information as her chip is unregistered. Ayda was coming to the end of her 7 day hold and needed us.

A huge thank you to Paula who transported the lovely Ayda to her foster, Emma and her family in the North East.

It took a few days to decide on a name for this lovely lady. But we were determined to find the perfect one, to start her happily ever after journey. Ayda fits her perfectly!!

Ayda has so far been the perfect house guest, as you can see she is terribly over weight, has very sore eyes, possibly an ulcer and possible ear infection, so will be seeing our vet ASAP.

Ayda has settled really well with Ozzy her Foster brother and absolutely adores Emma’s son, who she follows around. She’s an affectionate and cheeky girl, Emma predicts lots of “get downs” & “All 4 paws on the floor” will be said over the coming weeks.

Welcome to your GBSR family Ayda, we will be with you every step of the way on this journey and can promise that you will never be alone again, not for a single moment.
