We were contacted by a kind lady who took Bernie from her breeder to save her from being put to sleep

Bernie is just 8 weeks old, and sadly, she was born with a double cleft palate. To make things even harder, she’s now battling a severe ulceration in her left eye, believed to have been caused by a scratch from another puppy

Knowing time was critical to save her sight, a huge thanks to our amazing foster Trish Plaister who didn’t hesitate — she jumped straight into action and made a 5-hour round trip to bring Bernie safely into our care

Bernie is now registered with our trusted vets in Solihull, where she’ll be seen first thing tomorrow morning. The team will assess her eye and explore possible options to help with her cleft palate.

Bernie will likely need to see a specialist for her eye, and her medical care could run into the thousands of pounds.
