Biggy – Now Adopted!

#Biggy

The announcement you’ve all been waiting for!!! BIGGY HAS FOUND HIS FOREVER HOME!

As you’re all aware of Biggys story, he came back to us a little while ago after his previous home didn’t work out due to no fault of his own . He landed straight back into foster with our fabulous volunteers, Adam & Sarah along with their 3 musketeers, Yogi, Honey and Bella.

It was like he never left!  When we thought he was ready to try and find love and a home again, we announced to the world you could apply for our special boy.

We searched high and low to find his forever home, it just seemed no one wanted our little Biggy. All he wanted was a home to call his own, it broke out all of hearts that we just couldn’t find them.

UNTIL a little spark of hope, the perfect application came from Martin and Sarah-Jane, could it be? Are they perfect for him? Is this fate?!

YES! We are so overwhelmed to tell you our fabulous boy Biggy has found his home with the most beautiful people, a fabulous home and the perfect place for Biggy!

Biggy was collected on Wednesday morning by his new owners and it was love at first sight!

His new mum Sarah-Jane says “he’s settling in so well and he’s just amazing”

Please help us celebrate and congratulate Martin, Sarah-Jane and Biggy and send them best wishes for their life together!

We hugely appreciate everyone sharing Biggys story across social media – you helped us make this happen

a little about Biggy..

#Biggy

We are incredibly sad to tell you that our beautiful boy has returned to his Springboard family through no fault of his own

Making the decision to return a dog to foster is an extremely difficult one for both their forever family and us as a charity. It’s heart-breaking for all concerned, but we have to keep the dogs’ best interest and those around him safe, especially where children are concerned.

Biggy has only been home a couple of weeks and you will be aware, that we make it very clear to all our adoptees that it takes 3 days to decompress, 3 weeks to start to know your routine, and 3 months to start to feel at home.

Sadly, introductions to the resident cat hasn’t gone as we hoped, and its apparent now that Biggy will not be able to live with a cat. Biggy also became over stimulated and excited when the new owners daughter and her baby walked into the home unannounced.
Biggy was presented with a new person walking into the home which naturally made him curious. Then consider that there was also a baby with its noises, movements and scent, which represented a new and interesting experience for him. The whole experience obviously caught Biggy’s attention, causing him to become very excitable and bouncy, so he was removed from the situation and taken outside to the garden so he could calm down.
We spoke to Biggy’s family and gave them advice on how to handle these situations, but sadly, there was another similar incident with their grandson

We must stress that Biggy IS NOT aggressive in any shape or form, his behaviour is excitement which leads to over stimulation, and being bouncy is how it manifests itself in him.

This is an incredibly sad situation but Biggy coming back to us is the right decision. He needs an another period of assessment while we discuss his needs for a successful rehome. We are so sorry it hasn’t worked out for both Biggy and his new family

Biggy is now back with his original foster family, Adam and Sarah, and their pack of EB’s in the Midlands.

Biggy was very happy to see everyone again, and after introductions and lots of love and cuddles, he went on to have a settled night.

Welcome back, sweetheart. We are devastated for you, but it’s the best decision for all concerned

A little of Biggy’s story below,

Biggy In Foster

Please welcome Biggy into our Springboard family

Biggy is a six-year-old unneutered boy who was very sadly found as a stray.

He was taken to Appledown kennels to see if anyone came forward to claim him, but sadly, after his 7-day hold, nobody did.

We have a relationship with Appledown Kennels, and they reached out to see if we had space to take him.

So foster Adam Bowley made arrangements to collect Biggy for us, but Biggy had contracted Kennel Cough so sadly that meant another week in the kennels until he was free from it.

The call came that Biggy was fit for collection, so on Sunday Biggy was collected by Adam.

Biggy is in foster with Adam and Sarah Bowley and their pack Honey, Yogi and GBSR girl Bella in the Midlands.

Coming into an established pack can be overwhelming and Adam is taking things slowly BUT his pack are very well used to new dogs coming in, so we are sure it won’t be long until Biggy feels settled.

Biggy will have a full health check by our vet and will need neutering while in our care.

This gorgeous boy will now have a period of assessment prior to finding his perfect furever home

So, Biggy, you handsome boy, you are safe and loved, and your GBSR journey starts right here!!
