A BIT ABOUT ME

Personality:

Blueberry is a funny, affectionate and loving girl who loves to roll on her back for belly rubs and wants to be as close to you as possible.

Blueberry loves all human contact; she will ask everyone she meets for fusses and likes to climb up on your shoulders like a mountain goat.

Blueberry isn’t a big fan of toys; she will join in with play with her fosters resident dog but doesn’t really know how to play.

Behaviour:

Blueberry is a sweet and perfectly natured bulldog; she wants to befriend every dog and human she meets.

Blueberry has been fantastic with visiting children whilst in foster and when out and about. She interacts with them well, letting them give her fusses.

Blueberry loves her food and eats at the speed of light; she isn’t aggressive in any way and will just look at you longingly if it’s taken away.

Blueberry is good with her commands and has excellent recall.

Needs:

Blueberry would suit a busy family home where she can have lots of love and affection.

Blueberry’s skin still isn’t perfect so she will need to continue having regular baths using medicated shampoo.

Blueberry had cherry eye so will need to continue using lubricating eye drops for a while.

Blueberry would love a garden to play and explore in.

Walk/exercise:

Blueberry loves going on walks and being out and about, she just loves to explore

Blueberry is eager to meet other dogs whilst on a walk, she sometimes freezes but can be easily distracted with a treat.

Blueberry prefers to use a harness as a collar can make her neck sore.

Toilet trained:

Blueberry is a good girl; she can have the odd accident if left for too long.

Travel:

Blueberry travels well in a car box seat, she can become a little stressed if travelling in the boot, because of this we will consider a home up to four hours away.

We recommend using a seatbelt restraint or travel crate whenever transporting dogs.

Things to be aware of:

Blueberry will not be rehomed with entire males or females.

Blueberry will be going home on a “to be spayed” contract, she will be recalled December 2024 to be spayed at a vets agreed by the charity paid by the charity covering a basic spay.

Blueberry has allergies, she must stay on a controlled diet, this is something that will flare up from time to time and may need medication to support. This will be the responsibility of her new family.

Blueberry has had cherry eye repair, this will need monitoring for dry eye, we would recommend using a daily lubricant which can be bought over the counter.

Sometimes Blueberry doesn’t realise her size, any young children in the home must be supervised, as she has the potential to jump and knock children over.

Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted.

Additional information:

Blueberry is eager to please and will be your best friend.

Blueberry has been fabulous with the resident dog whilst in foster, she has enjoyed being cuddled up and there has been no aggression between them. She is the cuddliest girl.

Blueberry like’s to have a nightlight on to sleep.

Blueberry’s adoption donation fee is £500 and will need to be paid in full prior to going home which will also be subject to a home check.

A little of Blueberry’s story below,

Please join us in giving a warm and heartfelt welcome to Blueberry one of our newest members of our GBSR family.

A beautiful lady who has been deeply affected by the financial crisis currently gripping the UK.

Sancho’s and Blueberry’s journey to us began when his loving owner, overwhelmed by a relationship breakdown, the responsibility of raising children, and living below the breadline, reached out to us. She made the heart-breaking decision to part with her beloved pets to ensure they wouldn’t suffer any longer.

Sadly, we recognized the need to separate them for their well-being, Blueberry bore the brunt of Sancho’s resource guarding.

Blueberry, a 2-year-old female, is in a more fragile state. She suffers from cherry eye, severe allergies, and demodex. Her skin, ears, and eye are painfully infected, making her situation even more dire.

Blueberry is being lovingly cared for by Jemma & Ryan in Wales, with the beautiful GBSR Mildred also looking after her. We rushed Blueberry to a vet appointment to kickstart her treatment, as her skin is in desperate need of relief.

Separating a bonded pair is never easy, but sometimes it’s necessary for their well-being.

Seeing Blueberry begin to thrive reassures us that we made the right decision.

Blueberry is already showing what a bouncy and playful lady she is and is enjoying out numbering poor Ryan with the ladies.

With lots of TLC and dedicated care, we know Blueberry will soon be in tip-top condition, ready to embrace her new lease on life.

Welcome to our family, Blueberry. We can’t wait to watch your story unfold
