‼️ UPSETTING STORY ‼️
Please welcome and show your love to our newest member of the GBSR family, Bonnie.
There are times when we bring dogs in that make you feel ashamed to be a human.
Two scared little girls had to be rehomed due to unforseen circumstanes, they went to a home of a trusted family friend of 10 years.
Bonnie, from a young age with her litter sister, Lolly. The family quite often received lovely updates from the new owners, showing them walking together and bonding, this was clearly a snippet! A minute clip of light and happiness, hidden in weeks’ worth of darkness and neglect!!
One day, the videos and messages just stopped. The family hounded the ‘friends’ for more contact, went round to their home, nothing. It was completely brushed off and were told ‘the girls are fine, don’t worry..’
Finally, the truth came out, Lolly was dead. Lolly had died from neglect, with no word on Bonnie, the family rushed to the house to understand what had happened, only to find Bonnie riddled with fleas, completely withdrawn and painfully thin. Not the Bonnie they knew and loved from a young age.
Both girls showed clear signs of abuse and torment.
The friends that they had known for over 10 years and trusted had totally tortured and neglected these poor girls
We will never know what happened behind closed doors but all we know is now, Bonnie is finally safe.
Bonnie was then transported to close family family to try and coax her out of her blank state and rehabilitate this poor girl, she hid from noise and anything that moved around her.
Bonnie shows signs of previously being hit or struck from items, we only see the mental scars that they are holding over her.
Bonnie would soil herself in urine at any noise, she didn’t want to be approached never mind stroked!
Eventually she grew healthy and strong, she felt love again , the power of love is a wonderful thing.
The RSPCA were made aware of the situation but unfortunately nothing came of it. The so called friends were never dealt with the way they should be!
The family rehomed Bonnie again with elderly family who sadly could no longer care for Bonnie as she deserves. Bonnie was spending her days crated, not being walked or taken care of. So it was decided that they needed help this time. Bonnies worried family reached out to us for help, knowing that we would do everything in our power to protect her from the cruelty of this world.
This girl is coming out the other side of the cruel world she once knew, hopefully in time her memory of that hell will soon be forgotten and she’ll only know love from here on out.
Bonnie my darling you are safe now, I’m sorry we couldn’t help Lolly but we’ve got you.
Bonnie is in foster with the lovely Danielle Cound, we can’t thank you enough for rushing to this girls rescue. We know she’s safe with you, you are already changing her life.
Bonnie is such a special girl and we can’t bear the thought of what she went through, we can only try and heal her..we are opening a wish list for some items to allow our supportive volunteers to gift to this little lady.
