Boss – Now Adopted!

A very special home announcement.

A very special boy has been chosen for a very special job.

You may have seen our very sad and heartbreaking post last week announcing that Winnie had gained her Angel wings and left us for the rainbow bridge.

Winnie’s dad Gratch was understandably devastated, he had given Winnie the most incredible life, one that any dog would dream of.

Gratch has really been struggling with the loss of Winnie and we really wanted to try and ease his pain, this is where we had a light bulb moment.

Gratch needed another companion, and we knew just the boy to take on this special role.

Step in Boss (now Winston) who was just coming to the end of his foster assessment.

We approached Gratch with the offer to adopt Boss and it was happy tears all around as he said “yes”

Some things are just meant to be!!

Boss is in no way a replacement for Winnie, but we hope in time he will help to ease some of Gratch’s pain.

So will you all please join me in congratulating Gratch and the newly named Winston on finding each other, we all wish you many happy years together.

To Winston, be a good boy sweetheart, your daddy needs you more than you will ever know.

A little of Boss’s story below,

Please join us in welcoming the absolutely adorable Boss to our GBSR family!

Boss is a 10-month-old male who comes from a very loving family. Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond their control, they had to make the heart-wrenching decision to rehome him. Boss’s little girl has ASD and is deeply afraid of him. Despite their best efforts to help her overcome her fear and build a bond with Boss, nothing seemed to work. It reached a point where Boss couldn’t be in the same room as her and was spending more and more time alone in his crate.

Understanding that this was not the life they wanted for Boss, the family made the incredibly difficult but selfless decision to contact us. They were worried about Boss falling into the wrong hands and wanted to ensure he would be safe and loved. By bringing him to our rescue, they knew he would be protected and eventually find the perfect forever family.

Boss is now in foster care with Emma Turnbull and her family, who welcomed him with open arms last night. He is already starting to settle in well. His cheeky personality is shining through, and he loves playing with Ozzy. Although he was a bit anxious around Emma’s children at first, Boss is beginning to bring them toys and seek their attention and affection.

Boss must have woken up feeling like the king of the world because he’s full of energy and up to all sorts of puppy mischief! If he can steal it, he will. If it fits in his mouth, consider it chewed. Toes? Apparently, they’re a gourmet delicacy. And those puppy dog eyes? He’s not afraid to use them to wiggle out of trouble.

Good luck, Emma! You’re going to need it with this little rascal.

Welcome, Boss! We can’t wait to hear all about the chaos and hilarity you bring to your new adventures!

We are committed to finding Boss the loving home he deserves, where he can thrive and be happy.
