A BIT ABOUT ME

Personality:

Bruce is very puppy like, he just loves play.

Bruce is extremely affectionate; He loves snuggles and of course loves a good bum scratch.

Bruce is charismatic and gentle in nature he is happiest at the side of his humans.

Behaviour:

Bruce is a very outgoing boy, and in typical bulldog fashion he can be bolshy and stubborn. And of course, has perfected the bulldog deaf ear.

Needs:

Bruce needs an active family environment one with someone home the majority of the day and will keep him involved with daily activities.

Bruce needs a family who have the time to continue training him and helping him reach his full potential.

A garden is a must for this boy, he loves to be nosey and see what is going on in the world.

Bruce will benefit from a laid-back dog in the home, or he would do very well as an only dog.

Walk/exercise:

Bruce loves his walks; he will pull in excitement as the walk starts but he will settle down, he shouldn’t be walked off leash as he hyper focuses on things like sheep. He will need ongoing leash training.

Bruce walks well on his own and in company, he doesn’t pay any attention to other people or unfamiliar dogs whilst out.

Toilet trained:

Yes, Bruce is a very good boy, he will stand at the door when he needs out.

Can be left:

Bruce settles very well in a pen; it is preferred that he would have a crate or pen in his new home. This will help him settle and keep to normal routines.

Because of this Bruce can be left for up to 4 hours.

Travel:

Bruce travels very well, he can become excitable and try get out as soon as the door is opened, so recommend he is restrained. We will accept applications of up to 4 hours away from his current location.

We recommend using a seatbelt restraint or travel crate whenever transporting dogs.

Things to be aware of:

Bruce needs a controlled diet due to allergies. He must continue on his current food Royal Canin Hypoallergenic.

Sometimes Bruce can be boisterous to play but doesn’t realise his size, any young children in the home must be supervised, as he has the potential to jump and knock children over.

Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted.

Additional information:

Bruce is a wonderful young boy; he is everything you could want in a bulldog. If you are looking for the dog that you want to be your partner through life, then Bruce is your boy!!

Bruces’s adoption donation fee is £500 and will need to be paid in full prior to him going home which will also be subject to a home check.

A little of Bruce’s story below.

Please welcome Bruce to our GBSR family!

Bruce a 4-year-old entire male.

We were contacted early last week by someone who was concerned about Bruce and his condition. They had spoken with owner and helped them understand that Bruce needed more than they could give.

The family then reached out to us for help, they couldn’t afford the vet treatment he would need and knew that we would make sure he gets all the treatment and love he could possibly need.

Bruce is in foster with Cherie Williams in Wales.

Welcome to your first foster journey!!

Bruce has terribly sore skin and folds from untreated allergies and diet that just didn’t suit him at all.

He has been to the vet this morning and we are starting him on a strict diet, and treatment for his itchy, flaky skin.

He is settling slowly although a little unsure of his new foster fur brother a Frenchie named Bruce too.

Welcome to GBSR Bruce…..we will do everything to have you well again, we can’t wait to see what adventures are ahead of you!!
