A BIT ABOUT ME
Personality:
Buddy is an outgoing, lively boy who brings a spark of joy everywhere he goes. He’s full of energy, enthusiasm, and that irresistible bulldog zest for life — always ready for fun, always ready to explore, always ready to be part of whatever’s happening.
But when the day winds down, Buddy shows his softer side. He loves nothing more than settling in close, relaxing with his people, and soaking up the calm of the evening. For all his liveliness, he has a beautiful ability to switch off and simply enjoy the quiet moments.
From the moment he trotted in with that friendly grin, Buddy became a loyal little shadow — the kind of dog who chooses his people wholeheartedly. Wherever you are, he wants to be, as though he’s always belonged right by your side.
Behaviour:
Buddy is a bright, loving boy who feels things deeply. He may be a little anxious when he first arrives somewhere new, but with patience and reassurance he soon settles and shows his true, affectionate nature.
He already knows his sit, and he’ll offer a paw too — especially when he’s excited or meeting someone for the first time. His enthusiasm can bubble over into bouncy greetings, but it all comes from a place of joy and wanting to connect.
Big vehicles and loud noises can worry him, so he’ll need calm guidance and a steady hand to help him feel safe. Around children, Buddy absolutely shines. He adores them, but like many young, lively males, he’ll need gentle boundaries to help him remember his manners.
Buddy can be a little protective over his toys, so playtime with other dogs will need to be managed while he learns to share and understand his place in the home. With consistency, kindness, and structure, he will flourish.
He’s a loving, eager, wonderfully spirited boy — the kind who just wants to belong and will give his whole heart to the people who guide him.
Needs:
Buddy is looking for a loving, active family who can match his enthusiasm for life. He thrives on walks, adventures, and being part of whatever his people are doing — but he’s just as happy to curl up and relax with you in the evenings, soaking up the calm after a busy day.
His new family will need to understand bulldogs and be confident in continuing his training and boundaries. Buddy is a bright boy who wants to please, and with consistency and kindness, he’ll flourish beautifully.
A secure garden is a must for him. It’s one of his favourite places to explore, potter about, and in the summer he’ll happily sunbathe the day away.
Buddy would also benefit from another friendly dog in the home. Having a canine companion will help build his confidence and give him the reassurance he needs as he continues to grow and learn.
Walk/exercise:
Buddy has made amazing progress with his walking. Although he was very unsure of the lead at first, with gentle reassurance he quickly learned to enjoy his walks. He can still become nervous around big lorries or loud noises and may try to back out of his harness, so he needs calm, confident handling to help him feel safe.
He walks best with another dog beside him — having a canine friend gives him confidence and helps him relax. Buddy is very friendly when meeting new dogs, sometimes a little too enthusiastic, but his heart is always in the right place.
With patience, steady guidance, and a doggy companion to show him the way, Buddy becomes a lovely, eager walking partner.
Toilet trained:
Yes, Buddy is a good boy, he may have accidents initially but will soon settle into his new routine.
Travel:
Buddy can be stressed during travel, he will need someone with him for reassurance. Because of this we will accept applications of up to 2 hours from his current location.
We recommend using a seatbelt restraint or travel crate whenever transporting dogs.
**TRANSPORTING DURING WARMER WEATHER IT IS IMPORTANT TO KEEP THE CAR AS COOL AS POSSIBLE**
Things to be aware of:
Buddy will not be rehomed with any entire dogs.
Buddy is crate trained, we would encourage his forever family to continue this for continuity of care.
Sometimes Buddy is excited to play but doesn’t realise his size, any young children in the home must be supervised, as he has the potential to jump and knock children over.
Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted.
Additional information from Buddy’s foster family:
Buddy, from the second you trotted into my life with that friendly grin, you became my little shadow and my best mate. You follow me everywhere, as if you’ve always belonged right by my side. This may be your foster stop, but while you’re here, you are my family — and my heart is better because of you.”
Buddy’s adoption donation fee is £550 and will need to be paid in full prior to him going home which will also be subject to a home check.

Buddy’s story.
Please welcome the newest little soul to join the GBSR family Buddy!
Buddy found his way to us after his family heartbreakingly could no longer care for him. While his two Frenchie siblings have gone to another rescue, we’re incredibly grateful that we were able to open our hearts and a safe space for Buddy when he needed it most.
Just 1 year old, Buddy has already shown us what a special boy he is — gentle, affectionate, and bursting with friendliness . He was collected over the weekend by our wonderful volunteer Lauren in the Midlands. This is Lauren’s very first foster with us, and we couldn’t be more thankful. Thank you for stepping in so quickly to bring Buddy to safety.
Buddy has settled in beautifully with resident pooches Millie and Mabel, already finding comfort in their company
Over the coming days, Buddy will have a full health check as we gently begin guiding him into the next chapter of his life — one filled with care, patience, and love

Please note: Buddy is currently in foster care and is not yet available for applications while he completes his assessment. Any applications submitted at this stage will be void and removed from our database. Please keep an eye out for updates when Buddy is ready to find his forever home.
