A BIT ABOUT ME

Personality:

Buster has a playful and cheeky nature, mischievous and naughty in the very best of ways.

Buster adores his humans, children and adults alike he is so eager to please and will do anything to get your attention.

Buster needs his humans for confidence; he is happiest and feels safest at your side.

Behaviour:

Buster is a giant puppy everything is a toy and if it can fit in his mouth and he can steal it he will.

Buster does not like to share toys or anything he perceives as a toy with other dogs but will happily share with his humans.

Buster is mouthy in play, he does like a bit of rough play, due to his age he can get carried away but holds no malice and will stop when told.

Buster has been doing well learning his commands.

Needs:

Buster needs a calm but active family environment.

A family that can put in the time, training and boundaries needed to help Buster reach his full potential.

A confident family will help build Buster’s confidence as his world grows.

A garden is a must.

Buster is crate trained; it is recommended that his forever home continue with this for continuity.

Walk/exercise:

Buster has learned to love a walk, he will try and hide from his harness but once he is out, he loves to explore.

Buster will happily interact with unfamiliar people and dogs during his walks and will initiate play.

Toilet trained:

Buster is a good boy; in typical bulldog fashion he can wet his bed on occasion.

Travel:

Buster loves a car ride, he will settle down either on the back seat or in the boot.

We recommend using a seatbelt restraint or travel crate whenever transporting dogs.

**TRANSPORTING DURING WARMER WEATHER IT IS IMPORTANT TO KEEP THE CAR AS COOL AS POSSIBLE**

Things to be aware of:

Buster’s fur is still growing back, so it is important he is not allowed to spend to much time outdoors in direct sun.

Buster has demodex and will need treated every 3 months with Bravetco flea and wormer (prescribed by your vet)

Buster is still on 5mg steroids daily for his skin.

Sometimes Buster is excited to play but doesn’t realise his size, any young children in the home must be supervised, as he has the potential to jump and knock children over.

Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted.

Additional information from Buster’s foster family:

Buster is a gentle giant, full of love and just happy to be with his humans.

He has so much to give and will make the best family companion, to grow old with, making happy memories. He is the type of dog that the more you put in the more you will get out of him.

Buster’s adoption donation fee is £500 and will need to be paid in full prior to him going home which will also be subject to a home check.

Buster’s story.

Please welcome #Buster into our Springboard Family

Buster is 20 months old and entire.

We were contacted by his family for advice and for the past 12 months we have advised and supported them.

BUT OUR ADVICE WAS NOT FOLLOWED

And for those past 12 months, his owners have watched Buster get worse and worse until he is the tiny and poorly little soul you see on here today (video in comments)

HE HAS NOT SEEN A VET IN MONTHS ..!!

How can you watch your dog deteriorate like this? just how can you when we have been telling you what you need to do for A YEAR..!!

It’s downright cruelty

On Thursday Buster started his journey to the Midlands where he will be fostered by Chloe (mum to GBSR boy Brody). Thank you, Chloe & Kate, for collecting Buster for us, we really appreciate you dropping everything and getting him into foster for us

Yesterday Chloe took Buster to the Vet, and we cannot repeat what he said but he was horrified and heartbroken at the pure NEGLECT Buster had endured

He has body score of 4/10 and he is 4 kilos underweight,,!!

As you can see, Buster’s skin is in a terrible state and he has open sores under his tail, on his bottom and another under his paw

His ears are filthy, and he is suffering with what looks like entropion in one eye but before we can go any further with that, we need to bring this ‘love of a boy’ back to health.

Buster was immediately started on steroids and pain relief, Bravecto & Malaseb baths.

So last night Chloe gave him what should have been a soothing bath, but he is now in so much pain with his split and weeping skin, he cried when she bathed him … no animal should ever have to suffer like this

All Buster has known is discomfort, but he is still such a happy little boy, its truly heart-breaking and it makes us so angry..!!

Buster will be moving to Emma Turnbull in the North East to carry on his recovery in the next few days, as Chloe can only temp foster for us, but he will be in very good hands with Emma as she has fostered many dogs in Busters condition

We are holding a fundraiser for Buster as his road to recovery will be long so please consider helping Buster on his Springboard Journey.
