A BIT ABOUT ME

Personality:

Clover is a bright, energetic and playful young girl with a genuinely loving nature.

Clover loves to play and is very puppy like in temperament.

Clover loves her people and thrives on physical affection and will seek you for attention.

Clover will initiate affection and play with other dogs in the home.

Behaviour:

Clover is still very puppy like and will need ongoing training to ensure she reaches her full potential. She is very inquisitive and likes to investigate new things.

Clover has done very well learning her commands we would recommend that her training be ongoing in her new home.

Clover loves toys and will take them from other dogs in the home.

Clover is frightened of loud and sudden noises; she will cower and try and hide.

Needs:

Clover will suit an active but calm family environment, one with someone home the majority of the day. A family able to commit to her training and helping her reach her full potential.

Clover will benefit from a laid-back playful male dog in the home to keep her company when her humans can’t. Clover can not be rehomed with any dogs who display resource guarding behaviours.

Clover’s family must understand her needs and allergies, small changes make the biggest difference.

A weekly husbandry routine to ensure her skin and fur continue to thrive.

A garden is a must.

Walk/exercise:

Clover loves her walks; she walks very well on lead on her own or with company.

Clover is happy to interact with unfamiliar dogs whilst out and enjoys exploring the environment.

Clover is afraid of traffic; she has done well in training and will continue to improve as her confidence grows. It is important that her new family continue to work on this with her.

Toilet trained:

Yes, Clover is a good girl, she has even learned to ring the bell when she needs to go out.

Travel:

Clover travels very well, because of this we will accept applications of up to 4 hours from her current location.

We recommend using a seatbelt restraint or travel crate whenever transporting dogs.

Things to be aware of:

Clover suffers from allergies both food and environmental it is important that her strict diet is followed to ensure she is happy and healthy.

We would recommend changing chemical cleaning products and have had success using Method products with our dogs with skin and allergy issues.

Clover will need to stay on a low dose of apoquel for life, as well as keeping on top of her flea and worming treatment for dermodex and will need a regular bath to keep on top of her skin.

Sometimes Clover is excited to play but doesn’t realise her size, any young children in the home must be supervised, as she has the potential to jump and knock children over.

Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted.

Additional information:

Clover has grown into the happiest most affectionate little girl, a far cry from the run down and withdrawn little girl in kennels. Clover is the ideal girl for a family to grow with, and she is the type of dog that you get back what you’re willing to put in. Her fur continues to grow back thicker everyday, but it still has a little way to go.

Clover’s adoption donation fee is £500 and will need to be paid in full prior to her going home which will also be subject to a home check.

A little of Clover’s story below,

It seems we are well and truly in the ‘Abandon Your Dog’ season

Let’s welcome Clover to GBSR

So, another day, and yet another request for help with a stray from the local dog warden.

This little lady is an entire young girl of approximately 12 months and already she has been totally neglected and bred from ….!!!

We asked our ‘foster family’ for help, as we needed to get this girl out of the kennels and get her treated ASAP and thanks to Nina, Clover is now in foster, and the true extent of her neglect is evident.

This morning, Nina travelled to the vets to have her checked over and assessed.

So, Clover is in dreadful condition with Demodex, closed ear canals due to untreated infections and she has a yeast infection oozing from them.

She also has a hernia.

Poor body condition with secondary infections.

And double cherry eye glands.

Treatments have started today and it’s going to take some time with meds, shampoos and decent diet to get this girl back to the condition she should always have been in…. BUT WE WILL DO IT..

As is so often the case, this little dot of a girl is just so happy. It breaks us when we see a dog that has clearly had a rough time, for a long time, but still wants to please and be loved, and that’s how Clover is.. she is an adorable young girl.

She is getting to know the resident dog Ronnie, and she had a good 1st night in foster with no accidents.

Obviously, she was thrown away by her owner so she has nothing to her name, so if you wish to donate to Clover’s care, we have a donate option on this post and also you can donate using the reference ‘CLOVER’ using one of the options below:
