A BIT ABOUT ME

Personality:

Willow and Coco are a wonderful, bonded pair, each with unique personalities of their own.

Willow is affectionate, thrives on attention and has a playful nature.

Coco is just as affectionate and playful at times but has a more laid-back nature.

Coco may demand attention at times, with play barking and that beautiful bully growl. With a typical bulldog stubborn streak and she can be slightly lazy.

Coco is the protective one of the pair, but really she is a big softy.

Behaviour:

Willow has done well learning her basic commands quickly.

Willow is very possessive over toys – happy to leave when she wants to play but will resource guard from other dogs in the home.

Coco likes rough play. She jumps on in there and will get involved. She can be quite mouthy and a little rough.

Coco’s hasn’t a bad bone in her body.

Needs:

Coco and Willow need a calm home environment, with a family that will keep them included in all that is family life.

A family that can meet both girls needs and can get involved with rough and tumble play.

A garden to play and exercise in is a must for these girls.

Walk/exercise.

Willow love’s her walks; Willow prefers to be at the front of the pack and does pull, we would encourage ongoing lead training.

Willow can bark and jump towards unfamiliar dogs, whilst this is off putting it isn’t aggressive in nature.

Coco isn’t keen on walks; she would happily stay at home all day long if she could and just watch the world go by.

Toilet trained:

Coco and Willow have both come on incredibly well they may need a little more training in this area, as they can have the occasional accident.

A good toileting routine and these girls will have it down in no time.

Travel:

Willow and Coco are relaxed, but excited to be going out. They settle quickly and travel well. Because of this we will accept applications of up to 4 hours away

We recommend using a seatbelt restraint or travel crate whenever transporting dogs.

Things to be aware of:

Coco and Willow cannot be rehomed with any dogs who have any resource guarding behaviours.

Sometimes Coco is excited to play but doesn’t realise her size, any young children in the home must be supervised, as she has the potential to jump and knock children over.

Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted.

Additional information:

This beautiful pair will make the best addition to family who are looking or a dog who prefers to be a home body and a dog that wants to explore the world. The perfect ying and yang.

They will bring so much love, joy and amusement the perfect bulldog mix.

Coco and Willow’s adoption donation fee is £800 and will need to be paid in full prior to going home which will also be subject to a home check.

**Every dog rehomed by GBSR receives Rescue Back-up for their whole Life. And the admin team are available for advice and support for the whole of that dog’s lifetime via Messenger, therefore the successful applicant will need to have an active Facebook and Messenger account for the life of the dog. If you cannot agree to this, please don’t apply**

Coco & Willow in foster – South West

Please join us in welcoming Coco and Willow to their new chapters in their lives.

Coco (choc tri) and Willow (fawn/white) are the first 2 of 4 dogs we have rescued from the same home. They are both 5 year old unneutered females.

This is a very sad surrender due to their owners relationship break down and the owner having some disabilities. She was struggling to take care of all of her dogs on her own and felt it was in their best interests to rehome them so they receive the love and care they deserve

Huge thank yous to Mandy Carpenter, who very kindly collected the girls from their owner and then travelled them to Holly Hughes, who took them on the final leg of their journey to their foster mumma Natalie Gladman.

We truly appreciate all your help with transporting these girls, especially on a weekend.

Thank you, Natalie, for kindly opening your heart and home to Coco and Willow. We are very appreciative for all your support with this beautiful duo. Thank you so much!

Coco and Willow are in foster in the South West, and apart from being a bit smelly and hungry, the girls weren’t in bad condition.

They have no obvious health issues. Their nails desperately need trimming, but their ears and coat are in good order.

Both girls are boisterous, vocal, and playful and have no manners at all. Their foster mumma has described them as marginal hooligans but they’re so loveable with it, and we are sure with some consistent training and boundaries their behaviours will improve.

Both girls are settling well and have slowly been introduced to Natalie’s boy, Reggie.

Coco and Willow will need to be spayed in due course, so they will be assessed at the vets this week and booked in ASAP.
