A BIT ABOUT ME
Personality:
Diva is a bright and happy lady with a gentle and affectionate nature.
Diva will actively seek out her humans and other dogs in the home for attention, both in play and for a cuddle.
Diva is a gentle soul and will shy away from boisterous and rough play.
Behaviour:
Diva will initiate play with other dogs and her humans, her favourite toy is a ball.
Diva understands basic commands and is responsive to her humans, especially if a treat is involved.
Diva may start out a little anxious with new dogs and can become excited in play this can lead to humping the new friend. She will stop when told.
Diva can be afraid of sudden loud noises and can be vocal, she will soon settle with reassurance.
Needs:
Diva needs a calm home environment with an active family who will keep her involved with daily activities and adventures.
Diva will enjoy ongoing training to build the bond between her and her humans.
Diva may start off shy and will need a quiet area for her to decompress, she is crate trained so we would encourage her new family to have one. It will give her a safe space as she settles in.
Diva will benefit from a calm but playful male doggy companion in the home, to keep her company when her humans are away.
A garden is a must for her to play with her favourite ball.
Walk/exercise:
Diva loves her walks; she walks very well alone and in company.
She can be excitable when meeting unfamiliar dogs and may bark at them, this is easily redirected as you continue with the walk.
Typical bulldog fashion she loves all the attention she attracts.
Toilet trained:
Yes, Diva is a very good girl.
Travel:
Diva enjoys a trip out in the car, she likes to watch the world go by. Because of this we will accept applications of up to 4 hours from her current location.
We recommend using a seatbelt restraint or travel crate whenever transporting dogs.
Things to be aware of:
Diva must continue on her current diet due to allergies.
Diva is booked to be spayed 22/01/2025 she will be ready to go home after she has been cleared by the vet 10days post op.
Sometimes Diva can be excited to play but doesn’t realise her size, any young children in the home must be supervised, as she has the potential to jump and knock children over.
Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted.
Any dogs in the home must be accepting of other dogs, with no resource guarding behaviours.
Additional information:
Diva is an incredibly loving and affectionate lady; her family will be the centre of her universe. Diva is everything you would want in a best friend, and she will thrive in any family environment.
Diva’s adoption donation fee is £400 and will need to be paid in full prior to her going home which will also be subject to a home check.
**Every dog rehomed by GBSR receives Rescue Back-up for their whole Life. And the admin team are available for advice and support for the whole of that dog’s lifetime via Messenger, therefore the successful applicant will need to have an active Facebook and Messenger account for the life of the dog. If you cannot agree to this, please don’t apply**

Diva 11/12/24
Welcome Diva who is 4 years old and entire
We were contacted by a distraught lady who had been left struggling to care for her daughters bulldog for the past two years, when their relationship broke down
Several attempts had been made to get Diva’s owner to take responsibility for her dog, because the last thing they wanted to do was give her up, but alas all attempts failed. So with a heavy heart she put this little girls needs first and asked if we would take her and make sure she would always be loved and cared for
Diva is a sad, four year old unneutered girl who has had a litter of pups. Her pups were born ‘water babies’ and didn’t survive
Diva has come in grubby with sore and dirty ears, red paws where she’s been gnawing them, both front paws have interdigital cysts, and she is very itchy.
Thank you to our foster mumma Holly Hughes, who kindly collected Diva for us on Tuesday and welcomed her into her home with her girl Beanie
Diva has had a long warm soak in a medicated bath and an antihistamine tablet to help soothe her itching whilst we work quickly to get her registered with our vet and seen asap so we can make this poor little poppet comfortable
Diva is being introduced slowly to Holly’s resident dog, Beanie.
Holly is taking introductions slowly, and they appear to be doing very well.
As with all our foster dogs, we encourage slow introductions to allow the new dog time to decompress.
This gorgeous girl will continue to decompress over the next few days and will be visiting our vets for her health check ASAP!
