Dixie – Now Adopted!

#Dixie is Home!

We’re absolutely loving seeing so many of our doggies find their forever homes lately — and now it’s Dixie’s turn!

Dixie came into our care at the end of August after his previous owners sadly had to move abroad and couldn’t take him with them. Thankfully, they reached out to us for help, and we were delighted to step in.

He went to foster care with the lovely Tracey in the northwest, where he met her resident dog, Bella. It was best-friend status from day one! The two quickly became inseparable, and Tracey worked so hard to help Dixie reach a healthy weight in preparation for his neuter.

When the time came for Dixie to start his search for a forever home, we were inundated with interest — no surprise there for such a handsome boy!  After lots of consideration, the perfect match was found with Lorraine and Andrew, their children Poppy and Cooper along with their resident pooch, Trixie.

A huge, heartfelt thank you goes to Tracey for caring for and loving Dixie like he was her own. Your dedication gave him the best start to his new chapter — we’re so grateful for everything you’ve done!

Please join us in congratulating Dixie’s new family — Lorraine, Andrew, Poppy & Cooper and of course, Trixie! 🎉

What an iconic duo… Trixie and Dixie!

Dixie’s story,

Please welcome 3 year old Dixie into our Springboard family

Sadly Dixie had had 3 homes by the time he was a year old, but when he found his last owner it was always supposed to be forever and they have enjoyed nearly 3 wonderful years together

However, life throws us lemons and because of a change in circumstances Dixie was no longer able to stay with his owner

The owner has spent many weeks trying to find the right place for Dixie, somewhere where he would be safe with someone who would make sure his beloved boy would always be loved and looked after. So when we were approached, there was only one answer we could give – and it was a YES

At the weekend Dixie was collected for us by Tracey Aroney who has agreed to foster Dixie for us in the North West. Massive thank you to you Tracey, we are very happy to have you on board as a foster, and we hope you will enjoy the experience

Dixie arrived and has been a bit unsettled, but he is bonding with Tracey’s other dog Bella and today has been a bit of a turning point

As you will see Dixie is a bit of a ‘gorgeous chonky’ and this has exacerbated an infection in his tail pocket. He has started a diet, and we are hopeful that he wont need his tail removed and that with weight loss we can keep his tail pocket clean, but we can’t rule out surgery in the future

Dixie will be having his vet check and once he has lost some weight, we will discuss his neuter but for now, he is loving life and enjoying Bella’s company

So please welcome this sweetheart of a dog, who hasn’t done anything wrong but need’s the love and support of our family to start the next part of his journey – welcome Dixie
