Dogs: No.
A BIT ABOUT ME
Personality:
Dot is a typical stubborn and sassy female bulldog who loves getting her own way.
Dot will need time and patience to gain your trust, but once she does, she will come out of her shell and be your best friend.
Dot is happiest by your side; she is the epitome of a companion dog.
Dot is a physically affectionate little lady and loves all forms of contact with her people.
Behaviour:
Dot loves her people and thrives on physical affection and will seek you for attention. She loves to be the centre of attention.
Dot loves playing with toys, she is vocal when playing and may play growl if you try to take toys from her, but she shows no malice and will let you take them.
Dot loves rough play but can be a bit giddy after.
Dot knows her basic commands, especially if there if a treat involved, we would encourage active training with all members of the family, allowing Dot’s confidence to grow, and bonds to build between Dot and her humans.
Needs:
Dot needs a calm but active family environment, with a family who understands the behaviours of the breed and can continue her training journey and put firm boundaries in place to ensure she continues to thrive.
A garden to explore and play in is a must for Dot.
Dot does not like to share her space or her humans and is being rehomed as an only dog.
Walk/exercise:
Dot loves going for a walk and is excellent on the lead, she will walk right by your side.
Dot isn’t a fan of meeting other dogs outside the home and can be reactive by pulling to get to them, Dot needs active training to build her confidence and teach he to ignore dogs in her space and to concentrate on her people.
Dot wears a harness and has no problems with having it put on or taken off.
Toilet trained:
Yes, Dot is a good girl
Travel:
Dot is a great traveller; she can be very anxious getting in and out of the car so we would advise keeping her harness on during these times. Because of this we will except applications up to four hours away.
We recommend using a seatbelt restraint or travel crate whenever transporting dogs.
**TRANSPORTING DURING WARMER WEATHER IT IS IMPORTANT TO KEEP THE CAR AS COOL AS POSSIBLE**
Things to be aware of:
Dot can be difficult to clean; she especially doesn’t like her tail pocket being cleaned. We would suggest using treat-based training in this area.
Dot has a few flash points, isn’t a fan of plastic bags, loud noises, the hoover, fan or the hair dryer. As Dot grows in confidence with her family and begins her training journey she will thrive and learn to not be so afraid of new and unfamiliar items.
Sometimes Dot is excited to play but doesn’t realise her size, any young children in the home must be supervised, as Dot has the potential to jump and knock children over.
Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted.
Additional information from Dot’s foster:
Dot is such a lovely dog. I get complimented on her daily. She is gorgeous looking and no hassle. You can tell she comes from good heritage as she doesn’t malt, no smell from her, no real medical issues. These days she enjoys playing with toys and seems to really enjoy them and being played with. She can be a little sassy at times when you try to make her do things she doesn’t want to do but nothing a little treat can’t resolve. She loves human interaction and just becomes a little shadow for whoever probably due to being nosy! Makes a great guard dog as she loves to sit at the front door and watch the world go by. Entertains herself, Going to miss the little sass pot keeping me in line with what she wants to do.
Dot’s adoption donation fee is £400 and will need to be paid in full prior to her going home which will also be subject to a home check.

Dot’s Story.
Please welcome 6 year old #Dot onto her Springboard journey
Dots owner reached out to us as their circumstances had changed meaning they had to move, and sadly they were unable to take Dot with them
So we reached out to our foster network and Jackie Harmon came forward and offered to foster Dot for us in the North West.
We want to send a big thank you to Jackie, for offering to foster and for collecting Dot for us earlier this week
Jackie is taking introductions between Dot and the resident girls #Aimee (GBSR girl) and Gracie very slow with supervision.
Dot and Aimee are ok together, but Dot is still unsure of Gracie, so Jackie is doing the right thing by walking them together and short supervised intro’s
Dot has had a litter, and she isn’t spayed so we will sort this, and she has come to us with a limp which already seems to be getting better. She has seasonal alopecia but other than that, she appears to be in good health
Dot will have her vet check next week and hopefully she will just need spay and a period of assessment before she is ready for hew new forever home
So let welcome Dot into the arms of her GBSR family and we are looking forward to seeing you complete your journey with us.
