Ellie – Ready for Adoption – Midlands

Dogs name: Ellie

Age:  2 years old.

Current location: Nottinghamshire

I CAN LIVE WITH

Children: Yes, dog savvy.

Cats: No.

Dogs: Yes, must be excepting of other dogs in the home.

A BIT ABOUT ME

Personality:

Ellie is the epitome of companion. She is everything you could wish for in a bulldog.

Her affectionate nature makes her an ideal family member who enjoys physical attention.

Ellie will be her person’s shadow, never too far from them.

Behaviour:

Ellie can be boisterous at times but will soon calm down when told to.

Ellie has been learning her basic commands, but this will need ongoing training, she will sit, paw and stay when asked and recall is a work in progress.

Ellie will leave objects & toys when asked. She will not leave food but displays no concerning behaviours or guarding tendencies. We would advise she be fed separately to prevent her trying to eat the others food.

Ellie will play with toys but does not walk round with them. Will pick them up and then drop them. She is happy to share.

Needs:

Ellie needs a garden with space to play and exercise.

Ellie can be re homed with a calm laid back dog but will need time and space to feel comfortable and safe.

Ellie needs a calm but active home environment with a family that are happy to have her involved in all aspects of family life.

Walk/exercise

Ellie is very energetic and loves her walks.

Ellie is happy to be walked on her own as well as with a pack.

Ellie gets very excited when she sees her harness and takes a little time to settle down to enable you to put it on.

Ellie is eager to meet unfamiliar dogs whilst out. She can become excited but she just wants to play.

Toilet trained:

Yes, Ellie is a good girl.

Travel:

Ellie is excited when first getting into a car but soon settles and travels well, because of this we would consider a home up to 4 hours away.

We recommend using a seatbelt restraint or travel crate whenever transporting dogs.

Things to be aware of:

Elie took to her new environment really well, especially with new and scary things. Although she will tell them off, hoovers are not her friend.

Sometimes Ellie is excited to play but doesn’t realise her size, any young children in the home must be supervised, as she has the potential to jump and knock children over.

Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted.

Additional information:

Ellie is adorable.  She is very gentle when taking food and treats from you. She likes to sit and tell you off if you’re not interacting with her and tells some fantastic tales. She will follow you around and be your best friend.

Ellie’s adoption donation fee is £500 and will need to be paid in full prior to going home which will also be subject to a home check.

A little of Ellie’s story below,

Please welcome Ellie into her springboard journey!

Ellie is the second ‘Pound Girl’ we have taken this week, sadly the way these dogs are being discarded shows no signs of abating, in fact with the lead up to Christmas we can expect it to escalate.

Ellie is approximately 2 years old, we don’t have her history, only that she was handed over to the kennels who reached out to us to see if we could take her.

Sharon Lafferty kindly agreed to take Ellie for us so welcome to your 1st fostering experience for us. We are very grateful to you for opening your home to one of our GBSR dogs.

On Friday Sharon collected Ellie and she settled very well and made herself quite at home. She is excitable and very puppyish and she just wants to please.

She isn’t too keen on Sharon’s dog Murphy, but its early days and Sharon is following a schedule of slow, monitored introductions and lots of walks together which Ellie loves.

Ellie will be having her vet check this week and then we can organise her spay in due course while she is in assessment.

So please join us in welcoming Ellie to her Springboard journey where her new life awaits her!

Thank you as always for your support we couldn’t do what we do without you!
