Ember – Now Adopted!

We have the most heart warming news to share with you this morning- Ember is home. Infact, she was always home since the day she arrived into foster back in September
Usually when we write a going home annoucement we like to recap on the dogs journey in foster and how perfect the match with their forever family is. However, Ember’s mum Shelley summed this up perfectly for us with the below words about her little girl
‘Ember was found on the street—alone, unsure, and carrying a story we may never fully know. Somewhere along the way, she learned how to survive without knowing what it felt like to be chosen.
At first, we told ourselves all the usual foster rules: don’t get too attached, this is temporary, we’re just helping her heal, give her safety, warmth, and a soft place to land while she waited for her forever family
What we didn’t expect was how quickly she would weave herself into our hearts.
At first, everything was new to her—the quiet, the kindness, the steady routines. But day by day, Ember began to soften. You could see it in the way she started to trust, in how she rested her head a little heavier, in how her eyes stopped searching for the next place she might have to go,
Letting her go after everything she had been through felt unthinkable. She had already survived enough uncertainty & having lost everything once, we’ve vowed to be her rock, her safe space. This isn’t just an adoption; it’s a promise to choose her, to trust her, and to love her every day.
Ember is finally home, safe, loved & will remain so forever. We love you bubble butt
We are so grateful to GBSR she foundher way to us. xx’
We would like to say a huge thank you to Shelley, Dave and their children Elijah, Harveigh and Ayrton for the patience and love you have shown Ember. We are all over the moon that Ember is home and now gets to live the happy ever after she deserves
Congratulations to you all!
The girl with no name now named #Ember
Please welcome Ember into the arms of our Springboard family
Ember is believed to be aged 5 and she has clearly been bred from before being dumped on the street
Her time in kennels was up, and she needed a safe placement so yesterday, Co-ordinator Emma Turnbull, volunteer Laura Mackintosh and new foster volunteer Shelley Shell jumped into action and brought this girl into foster care
Understandably Ember was stressed to the eyeballs, and she needed a calm dog free home where she could relax and unpack her recent life events
Thank you very much to Emma for collecting Ember for us and to Laura for road training her to meet Shelley and to Shelley who will be fostering this little girl in the Midlands. We very much appreciate you all giving up your time to help her and we hope you will enjoy your experience fostering for us Shelley
Ember had a reasonably settled night and today she is calmer and interested to explore hew new world including the Koi Carp in the garden which is very interesting
Shelley has given Ember the once over and she doesn’t appear to be in too bad a shape but obviously she will need her vet check and then we can organise her spay.
We don’t know what life has thrown at this little girl but whatever it was she didn’t deserve to be dumped, so please join us in welcoming Ember onto her Springboard journey knowing her hard times are now over
