A BIT ABOUT ME
Personality:
Finnick is the epitome of a companion dog. He is happiest by your side, going wherever you go.
Finnick will thrive when kept busy, he is very intelligent and quick to learn. He will respond well to his humans, building a relationship and bond through training.
Finnick is an affectionately natured young bulldog who seeks his humans for comfort cuddles and fuss.
Behaviour:
Finnick absolutely loves all kinds of rough play and will initiate playing with his humans and other dogs. He is very good and will stop when instructed to.
Finnick is very gentle around children of all ages.
Finnick knows his basic commands. He will ‘get down’. ‘sit’ ‘paw’, especially if there is a treat involved.
Finnick enjoys playing with toys, likes to play tug, chew on rubber toys. He shows no possessiveness to his humans over them.
Needs:
Finnick would suit an active family, who will keep his mind busy and involve him with all that is daily family life.
Finnick would benefit from having a laid-back female with similarly playful nature for company, no entire females
A garden is a must for Finnick to play and explore in.
Walk/exercise:
Finnick is happy and excited to meet other dogs on a walk and will try and initiate play with them. He is a very friendly boy.
Finnick absolutely loves all attention from people he meets and will say hello to everyone.
Finnick loves to be out and about exploring his environment.
Toilet trained:
Yes, Finnick is a good boy and will let you know when he needs to go out
Travel:
Finnick travels really well, because of this we would consider homes up to 4 hours away from his current location.
We recommend using a seatbelt restraint or travel crate whenever transporting dogs.
**TRANSPORTING DURING WARMER WEATHER IT IS IMPORTANT TO KEEP THE CAR AS COOL AS POSSIBLE**
Things to be aware of:
Finnick has a lump under his gland in his throat which has been thoroughly checked by our vet. It doesn’t bother him or affect his everyday life and our vet has stated that it will reduce by itself overtime.
Finnick has skin allergies and must stay on his current hypoallergenic diet. He currently has 2 medicated baths a week to help keep his allergies under control however he may need to go on Apoquel during the summer months if his skin flares up. This will be the responsibility of this adopters at a cost of around £100 per month depending on dosage.
Sometimes Finnick is excited to play but doesn’t realise his size, any young children in the home must be supervised, as he has the potential to jump and knock children over.
Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted.
Additional information from Finnick foster mum:
Finn is the perfect companion. Loves all humans and dogs (even cows:). He’s such a loving curious boy who is always up for an adventure (walk, pub, train, bus). Nothing phases him. He’ll give you all the love you could want.
Finnick’s adoption donation fee is £500 and will need to be paid in full prior to him going home which will also be subject to a home check.

A little of Finns story below,
Please welcome a poorly entire 5 year old boy who was due to be PTS if no rescue space was found for him!
Finn was another neglected dog found wandering the streets, he is a very loving boy who has been let down massively by those that should have loved him with everything they had.
We want to thank Kathy and Paul for taking Finn in for us. We very much appreciate you coming forward and offering to help this little lad, thank you.
As soon as Kathy and Paul had Finn, they contacted us, and immediately we were alarmed by Finns breathing. Some dogs are stressed when they come into a new environment, and we always keep a very close eye on their breathing for the first 12/24 hours, but Finn was struggling more than we would expect.
Finn had his vet check yesterday and the loss of hair on his body is suspected to be caused by a mite infection, so meds, shampoos and wipes have been prescribed for that. He has mucky ears, so has ear cleaner and drops for those and he is tiny at 21 kilo’s.
He has a large soft lump around his jaw / neck area, and he has cyst inside his mouth and a suspected Ranula which is a cyst caused by a build-up of saliva from a damaged salivary gland. This would account for the large soft lump around his jaw, and this is contributing to his breathing problems.
Finn is going to need BOAS surgery, and the cysts will be investigated and corrected if possible while he is under GA.
Finn started his treatment plan yesterday and already today his breathing is easier which is very encouraging. And once his skin is looking better we will book him in for his surgeries.
So please welcome Finn to his Springboard journey and we are looking forward to seeing his come back to full health and lead a life that was so nearly snatched away.
