A BIT ABOUT ME
Personality:
Francis is a tender-hearted soul with a quiet strength and a deep love for her people especially the children in her family. She’s incredibly gentle and intuitive, often seeking them out with soft eyes and a wagging tail, ready for play or simply to be near. Around children, a maternal side shines through, revealing just how nurturing and affectionate she truly is.
Though naturally timid, Francis is slowly blossoming with the love and reassurance of her humans. Each day, she grows a little braver, a little more confident, and a lot more connected. She doesn’t ask for much just kindness, patience, and a place where she can feel safe enough to be her whole self.
Francis is the kind of dog who’ll quietly steal your heart and remind you that love, once earned, is the most beautiful thing of all.
Reggie is a calm, thoughtful, and respectful boy with a gentle soul. He’s affectionate and adores being close to his people.
Reggie is a real family companion who loves cuddles, kisses, and company. He has the perfect balance of serious and silly, with a trademark little wiggle bum when he’s happy!
Reggie and Francis get along brilliantly. They have a calm, easy-going relationship and coexist peacefully without any tension or competition. They don’t play together much, but they clearly take comfort in each other’s presence — almost like they quietly reassure one another just by being nearby.
They share space beautifully, eat side by side without issue, and show no signs of guarding or dominance. Reggie is described as a gentleman who happily lets Francis take the lead, and they have a lovely, balanced dynamic. Their foster carer says they “blissfully co-exist” and seem to have a silent understanding — Francis chooses her bed and soaks up the fuss, and Reggie is perfectly content with that.
Behaviour:
Francis is a sensitive soul who thrives on kindness and calm. Sudden movements or loud noises can startle her, and when she’s unsure, she’ll quietly retreat to a safe spot. But her response is never dramatic just a gentle reminder that she needs the world to move a little slower for her.
She’s incredibly gentle and always seeking reassurance. A kind word, a soft touch, or a quiet moment of fuss is all it takes to make her feel safe and loved. Francis doesn’t ask for much just a peaceful environment and humans who understand that her heart is tender and her trust is precious.
Reggie has wonderful manners and is very respectful in the home. He doesn’t chew, guard, or steal food and can be left for short periods.
He’s affectionate but not demanding and thrives on being part of family life.
Reggie just about knows the command “sit,” though his happy, wiggly bum sometimes gets in the way of perfecting it! He doesn’t currently know other commands such as paw, down, or wait, but he’s naturally well-mannered, gentle, and responsive. He listens beautifully to his name and reads people well, making him an easy dog to live with.
While he may not have had much formal training, teaching Reggie basic commands would be a wonderful way to strengthen the bond between him and his new family. He’s eager to please, enjoys positive interaction, and will thrive with gentle, reward-based training and encouragement from his humans.
Needs:
Reggie and Francis would thrive in a loving, stable home where they can enjoy plenty of company, gentle structure, and quality family time. Both have wonderfully calm, affectionate temperaments and find comfort in routine and being close to their people. They don’t demand constant attention but truly enjoy being part of everyday life — whether that’s relaxing at home, joining in family activities, or heading out for gentle walks together.
They would suit a home where someone is around for most of the day, as they value companionship and are happiest when they know their humans are nearby. Reggie and Francis have a lovely, balanced bond — they coexist peacefully, take reassurance from each other, and enjoy a calm, predictable environment. A home that offers them love, patience, and consistencywill allow their affectionate natures to shine, giving them the secure and happy life they both deserve.
Toilet trained:
Yes, Reggie and Francis are both fully house trained
Travel:
Francis travels quite well, she can start off panting but with gentle reassurance she will settle.
Reggie is an excellent traveller – relaxed in the car, especially when travelling with a companion. Because of this we will accept applications of up to 4 hours from their current location.
We recommend using a seatbelt restraint or travel crate whenever transporting dogs.
**TRANSPORTING DURING WARMER WEATHER IT IS IMPORTANT TO KEEP THE CAR AS COOL AS POSSIBLE**
Things to be aware of:
Francis will be going home on a spay contract to be re called at the end of December at a vets of the charities choosing costs covered by the charity for a basic spay up to £350.
Reggie & Francis adore children and will seek them out in the home, all young children must be supervised, as they have the potential to knock small children over.
Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted.
Additional information from Reggie & Francis foster family:
Whoever gets to welcome Francis into their home will be showered with love and affection. She is so gentle and has a beautiful soul. She adores children and will make the best family dog. We will miss her so much, I have no doubt there will be tears in our home.
Reggie is a beautiful, respectful boy. He has no edges at all. He is a real family boy. He has just the right balance of serious and fun. Fun with boundaries I think it’s called.
Reggie & Francis’s adoption donation fee is £900 and will need to be paid in full prior to them going home which will also be subject to a home check.

Francis has moved foster homes to join Reggie, Laura and her family in Yorkshire
Reggie has been struggling being an only dog since the sad passing of his friend, Penelope
Francis, although happy to be by herself was showing signs of missing a companion after living with other dogs. It made perfect sense to reunite Francis and Reggie to give them both some comfort and companionship
We would like to say a huge thank you to Rachel for starting Francis’ foster journey and for opening your home when she needed you the most
Please read below about Francis and Reggie before they bonded
Please join us in giving a warm welcome to the gorgeous and happy #Francis as she becomes part of the GBSR family
Francis is one of seven beautiful dogs who joined us earlier this week. She’s just 4 years young — a gentle, loving girl with so much affection to give
Francis will be settling into foster care with Rachel and her family in the Midlands. A huge thank you to Rachel for stepping in so quickly to collect little Franny and open your home and hearts to her
As expected, Francis is still a little timid while adjusting to her new surroundings. Household noises make her a bit unsure, and she found the wooden floors a real challenge at first
. With time, patience, and reassurance, we know her confidence will shine through.
Overall, Francis appears to be in good health, and she’ll be visiting the vets for a full check-up this week . She has also arrived in season, so with all the recent changes, her emotions are running a little high. Even so, she has already shown us what a truly gentle soul she is
Welcome to the family, Francis
We can’t wait to watch you blossom
Please join us in welcoming our little mischief-maker, #Reggie
Four-year-old Reggie arrived in foster on Monday with his kennel mate, Penelope (you’ll meet her soon ). His larger-than-life character and cheeky personality shone through the moment he walked through the door.
Reggie is currently with Aimee and Vicky in Yorkshire, but over the weekend he’ll be making one more journey to join his full-time foster mum, Laura, and her family
Apart from needing a nice bath and a nail trim, he seems to be in good health overall. He’s already showing his playful side, while also seeking out his foster mums for love and cuddles
Welcome to the family, Reggie — we can’t wait to see what mischief you get up to
