A BIT ABOUT ME
Personality:
Freckles affectionate and joyful nature makes her the best companion for the right family.
She adores all human contact whether affection or play and she will seek her humans for both.
In typical bulldog style Freckles has a sassy side and she knows what she wants.
Freckles loves all toys and loves to play, although she hast quite grasped the concept of fetch yet.
Behaviour:
In the home Freckles prefers not to share her humans or belongings with other dogs and can be reactive towards dogs in the home.
She will not shy away from rough play, but she doesn’t initiate it.
Freckles has done extremely well learning commands and understanding what is asked of her.
Needs:
Freckles needs a calm family environment, one which her family will keep her involved with all that is family life.
A family that understands the boundaries bulldogs need and will continue her training to help her reach her full potential.
A garden is a must as she loves to play.
Freckles is crate trained and uses her crate as her safe space, her new family must provide one for her for continuity of care and to help her settle.
Walk/exercise:
Freckles loves her walks and gets so excited when she sees her harness.
Freckles walks well in the company of the resident dog.
Freckles is tolerant of dogs whilst out but does not like to be pestered she will, grumble to warn them when she’s had enough.
Toilet trained:
Yes, she is a good girl.
Travel:
Freckles loves a car ride, she also travels well on the train.
Due to this we will accept applications of up to 4 hours away from her current location.
We recommend using a seatbelt restraint or travel crate whenever transporting dogs.
**TRANSPORTING DURING WARMER WEATHER IT IS IMPORTANT TO KEEP THE CAR AS COOL AS POSSIBLE**
Things to be aware of:
Freckles will be adopted on a “to be spayed” contract, she will be recalled at the time this is due. To be completed at the vet of the charity’s agreement costs covered by the charity.
Freckles has and ongoing skin condition causing fur loss, direct cause is currently unknown and under going further investigation.
Freckles has dry eye, this will need to be treated for life with optimmue.
Sometimes Freckles is excited to play but doesn’t realise her size, any young children in the home must be supervised, as she has the potential to jump and knock children over.
Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted.

Freckles is a total sweetheart. From the moment that she arrived at our front door; she has been nothing but eager to please. She just wants to be loved as she loves. She does the most amazing toe taps whenever she sees you and gives the best cuddles that I’ve ever known a dog to give.
She has been through a lot in her life so far but she has taken it all in her stride and wants for nothing, but a warm home filled with love.
Freckles’s adoption donation fee is £450 and will need to be paid in full prior to her going home which will also be subject to a home check.
**Every dog rehomed by GBSR receives Rescue Back-up for their whole Life. And the admin team are available for advice and support for the whole of that dog’s lifetime via Messenger, therefore the successful applicant will need to have an active Facebook and Messenger account for the life of the dog. If you cannot agree to this, please don’t apply**

Freckles has been COMPLETELY LET DOWN …!!!
To her previous owners, we hope you see this post and we hope you and your enablers feel ashamed of the state you have let this sweetest of girls get into.
She has clearly been bred from, but the money has never been spent on her has it? no, she was discarded like a piece of rubbish on the street – well SHAME ON YOU…!!!
Freckles was collected at very short notice from kennels yesterday by Admin member Trish who then road trained her to Danielle to complete the final leg of the journey, taking her to Ceara who will be fostering her for us.
Thank you, ladies, that was a super speedy and a great effort to get Freckles out of the kennels and into the comfort of a foster home
Freckles met resident EB Lenny yesterday and so far, there have been no issues with meet and greet which is fabulous and Ceara treated her to a soothing bath last night so she is already smelling a bit sweeter and feeling better
However, there are issue with her condition as you can clearly see….
We are querying Cushings disease, so she needs blood tests
She has an abscess under her tail which we need to treat before we discuss if her tail needs to be removed
We are also querying Entropion
Yesterday Ceara made an urgent appointment with the vet today so we will update you once she has been
