A BIT ABOUT ME
Personality:
Harry is an incredibly loving bulldog; he will seek you out for cuddles and fusses.
Harry is the epitome of a companion dog. He is happiest by your side, going wherever you go making him the perfect companion.
His playful and gentle temperament make him an ideal family member.
Behaviour:
Harry may start of reserved and quiet, but he soon settles into his environment and his beautiful nature develops with a little affection and reassurance.
Harry is a gentle soul who will shy away from rough play, He enjoys having a quiet play with his toys.
Harry knows his basic commands but will require ongoing training. Working on his training will allow a bond to flourish with his humans.
Needs:
Harry is well suited to the majority of family environments; he needs a family who will keep him involved in all that is daily life.
Harry is crate trained, so it is preferable that his new family continue to use a crate at least during the settling in period as it is his safe space.
A garden to explore and play in is a must for Harry.
Walk/exercise:
Harry loves going for walks and being out and about exploring his environment, he walks well on the lead and doesn’t pull.
Harry isn’t a fan of meeting other dogs outside the home and can be reactive by pulling to get to them, Harry needs active training to build his confidence and teach him to ignore dogs in his space and to concentrate on his people.
Harry wears a collar for his walks as he isn’t a fan of using a harness.
Toilet trained:
Yes, Harry is a good boy.
Travel:
Harry travels well, because of this we will consider homes up to four hours from his current location.
We recommend using a seatbelt restraint or travel crate whenever transporting dogs.
**TRANSPORTING DURING WARMER WEATHER IT IS IMPORTANT TO KEEP THE CAR AS COOL AS POSSIBLE**
Things to be aware of:
Harry does not like to share his space or his humans and is being rehomed as an only dog.
Harry came into foster with an infection in his eye, antibiotics drops have helped to clear it up however he may need entropion surgery in the future,
Sometimes Harry is excited to play but doesn’t realise his size, any young children in the home must be supervised, as Harry has the potential to jump and knock children over.
Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted.
Additional information from Harry’s foster:
Harry is the most loving boy that absolutely adores human contact. He is desperate for companionship and love. He has been a pleasure in the home, he’s wonderful around children and is very aware of their presence.
Harry has touched our hearts, and we are so happy to see where his journey takes him. He really deserves all the love you can give him.
Harry’s adoption donation fee is £500 and will need to be paid in full prior to him going home which will also be subject to a home check.

Harry’s Story
Please welcome Harry into the arms of our Springboard Family
Harry is around 3 years old was found alone in a property that had been left abandoned by the tenant.
The Landlord tried to engage with Harry’s owner, but they were just not interested in what would happen to him
Can you imagine what this poor boy has gone through being forgotten about like a piece of trash? It makes us sick to our stomachs
The property owner tried to find a rescue space but kept being turned away by rescue centres and charities (no judgement, we are all full to the brim ) and they had their own dog which made it impossible for them to take Harry … so in the house he stayed….. alone, being fed and that is all.
And after being knocked back for a rescue space, it got to the point that they were even considering having Harry PTS
Eventually, Harry came under our radar and we immediately jumped into action.
Harry was taken into foster by Melanie last week but sadly Harry was in such a high state of anxiety he just couldn’t settle in a new home with new dogs. So we decided he needed a dog free home where he could decompress in a calmer environment.
So, Harry is now in foster in the North West with Lisa Grimshaw.
We want to thank both ladies for being a part of Harry’s rescue. We are sorry it didn’t work out with you Melanie, but when a dog has been left alone for so long he was either going to take comfort being around other dogs or he wasn’t, and sadly his anxiety was triggered
Thank you to Lisa who jumped in and agreed to take Harry for us, couldn’t operate without our foster volunteers and we are very grateful to both ladies for helping us with Harry
Harry is getting on great; he is a placid boy who doesn’t know how to play yet and he sleeps well in his crate. He likes to spend his days following Lisa around and sleeping, bless his heart
Harry will have his vet check on Saturday and we can then discuss his neuter assuming all is well with him.
So lets welcome Harry onto his Springboard journey with us – your days of solitude are well and truly over sweet boy
