Age: 4 years old.

A BIT ABOUT ME
Personality:
Hugo is a typical energetic and inquisitive bulldog.
Hugo is extremely affectionate towards his humans and will seek out cuddles and attention.
Hugo loves playing with toys and has no resource guarding issues.
Behaviour:
Hugo is a cheeky boy who loves to run off with things up the garden i.e. mop, bedding, mats and slippers, he loves to play and have human and dog interaction.
Hugo has not been exposed to any rough play during his time in foster, he likes a rough fuss but it’s not gone as far as rough play and he has not played roughly with the resident dogs.
Hugo knows his basic commands but will need on going training to bring out his full potential.
Needs:
Hugo would suit an active family, who will keep him involved with all that is daily family life.
Hugo is a high energy playful boy; he would benefit from having a calm and laid-back dog in the home. Any female dog in the home must be spayed.
Any potential family need to be aware how active Hugo is and he needs a home that can meet these needs.
A garden is a must as this boy loves to explore and enjoys the outdoors.
Walk/exercise:
Hugo loves going on walks, he does pull on the lead so will need ongoing training in this area.
Hugo is happy and excited to meet other dogs on a walk and will try and initiate play with them. He is a very friendly boy.
Hugo absolutely loves all attention from people he meets and will say hello to everyone.
Toilet trained:
Yes, Hugo is a good boy
Travel:
Hugo travels well, he is relaxed and happy and shows no signs of stress or anxiety, because of this we would consider homes up to four hours away.
We recommend using a seatbelt restraint or travel crate whenever transporting dogs.
Things to be aware of:
Hugo has his eyes wiped every morning as overnight they can become sticky and dry. He also uses medicated shampoo when bathing him as he has some skin issues, however this has improved with his new diet which he will need to stay on.
Sometimes Hugo is excited to play but doesn’t realise his size, any young children in the home must be supervised, as Hugo has the potential to jump and knock children over.
Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted.
Additional information from Hugo’s foster
Hugo is an absolute superstar, he is the most loving, affectionate funny boy we have had the pleasure of fostering. Hugo has stolen our hearts, and it is a sad goodbye when he finds his forever family.
It is really difficult to explain how amazing Hugo is on paper, but his personality and squidgy face just melts you, once he trusts you, he gives you his everything. Hugo’s bum wiggles are the absolute best and when he sees you it just goes, and he has difficult controlling it.
Hugo loves to play with you and his cheeky personality makes me smile every day. The forever family picked for Hugo will be extremely lucky to have him.
Hugo’s adoption donation fee is £450 and will need to be paid in full prior to him going home which will also be subject to a home check.

A little of Hugo’s story below,
Hugo
Please join us in welcoming 4-year entire boy Hugo into our Springboard family
Hugo has been a much-loved member of a family since he was a puppy, but sadly his owner’s situation has changed and his is spending very long periods alone
His owner reached out to us to see if we could take him and earlier today, Danielle Cound kindly collected Hugo for us.
Thank you, Danielle, for collecting Hugo for us, and we really appreciate you taking Hugo into your home for assessment
Hugo has met the resident dogs (Pugs George and Archie, Chihuahua Pepe and Labrador Oscar), and they all appear to be getting along well so far, but like we always say, slow, steady and supervised interactions make for a successful transition for foster dog coming into a new environment.
Hugo is understandably super excited to be in the company of other dogs after spending so much time alone, so we think he is going to thoroughly enjoy the company of being in a pack… his FM is already calling him ‘Hugo the Hurricane’
Hugo has had cherry eye surgery a few years ago, and he has a skin allergy which we will be treating with a different diet and medicated shampoo while he waits to get his vet check
So, lets welcome this little boy into foster and we are looking forward to following him on his Springboard journey with us
