A BIT ABOUT ME
Personality:
Ice is a gentle and affectionate boy who will seek out his person for all the attention and affection they will give.
In true bulldog fashion Ice enjoys a good snooze.
Ice’s playful nature is slowly coming through, with continued support in play he will thrive and find the joy in the simple things.
Behaviour:
Ice hasn’t initiated rough play at all- he loves lots of fusses instead.
Ice loves being stroked and cuddled, he laps up attention from anyone he meets.
Ice knows his basic commands but will require ongoing training. Working on his training will allow a bond to flourish with his humans.
Ice is learning to play with toys, he shows no possessiveness towards them.
Needs:
Ice needs a calm but active family environment, with a family who understands the behaviours of the breed and can continue his training journey and put firm boundaries in place to ensure he continues to thrive.
A garden to potter around in is a must for Ice.
Ice need’s to be the only dog in the home.
Walk/exercise:
Ice walks very good on the lead. He is reluctant when you put his harness on but once he is out and about, he loves it.
Ice can pull when he see’s something he wants to explore but responds well to correction.
Ice isn’t interested in other dog’s while he is out, he will ignore and walk past.
Toilet trained:
Yes, Ice is a good boy.
Travel:
Ice travels very well in the car and will just lay down, because of this we will consider homes up to 4 hours away.
We recommend using a seatbelt restraint or travel crate whenever transporting dogs.
**TRANSPORTING DURING WARMER WEATHER IT IS IMPORTANT TO KEEP THE CAR AS COOL AS POSSIBLE**
Things to be aware of:
Ice is dog reactive in the home, because of this he will need to be an only prince.
Ice has skin allergies so will need to stay on his current fully hydrolysed diet. He also has regular medicated baths and a medicated spray for any skin flair ups.
Sometimes Ice is excited to play but doesn’t realise his size, any young children in the home must be supervised, as Ice has the potential to jump and knock children over.
Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted.
Additional information from Ice’s foster:
Ice is a lazy, sometimes grumpy, softest, most loving bulldog we have known. He absolutely loves humans and loves to be involved in day-to-day life.
Ice’s adoption donation fee is £450.00 and will need to be paid in full prior to Ice going home which will also be subject to a home check.

Ice’s story.
Please can we all welcome 4 year old #Ice into our Springboard Family.
Ice is a sad surrender and this is his story ….
Ice has skin allergies and anyone who has had a dog with allergies will know how difficult it can be to manage, and this is why Ice found himself being advertised on a selling site – he was in a mess and his original owners were struggling to keep on top of his flare ups
His new owner took Ice on as a companion for their EB who was grieving and lonely from the loss of her furbuddy.
Ice was treated to a new diet and meds and he has come on quite well, but sadly, the resident EB hasn’t taken to Ice so we were asked if we could help
Yesterday Aimee collected Ice for us, and she will be fostering him in the Yorkshire / Humberside area. Thank you for opening your home to this sweet young boy Aimee, we appreciate it very much
Ice is a very good boy; he settled well over night with no accidents and today he will have his vet check today and we will discuss options for him.
He has areas on his body that are hairless and sore, so we need to get him started on a regime to help calm his skin down and make him less itchy
He is already neutered so it’s a case of getting on top of his allergies & assessment.
Poor Ice has found himself moved from home to home through no fault of his own so once he has completed his assessment, we will be looking for a 5 home for him.
So welcome to your Springboard journey Ice, and we are looking forward to seeing you flourish and rehomed in the not too distant future
