A BIT ABOUT ME

Personality:

Jack is an extremely lovable, calm and happy boy. He is playful, puppy-like and full of life.

Jack adores people, enjoys affection and loves being close to his humans. He is gentle, sweet-natured and very friendly. He also loves to lick and give kisses.

Whether he is playing with toys, enjoying a walk, or simply relaxing close by, he is content just being part of the family and sharing in everyday life.

Behaviour:

Jack loves toys but destroys them quickly and does not show any possessive behaviour around them.

Jack does not understand rough play; he prefers love and affection.

Jack is still learning his basic commands, and while he does understand “Leave” when instructions are firm and consistent, this is an area that would benefit from continued training.

Needs:

Jack would make a truly wonderful family companion and would be a fantastic addition to most households. His gentle, loving and happy nature means he adapts well to family life and enjoys being involved in everyday activities.

Jack is still a young boy so needs a loving home with kind, patient owners who can continue basic training and give him reassurance.

A secure garden is essential for Jack so he has a safe and enclosed space where he can play, explore, and burn off his puppy-like energy.

Walk/exercise:

Jack is great both on and off the lead. He walks nicely beside you, does not pull, and enjoys his walks.

is happy to walk with or alongside other dogs. His recall is good but has only been tested in quiet areas with no distractions.

Jack is excellent when meeting other dogs out on walks. He remains calm, friendly and relaxed, showing no signs of reactivity or anxiety.

Toilet trained:

Yes, Jack is a good boy

Travel:

Jack is excited to get into the car and settles well in the boot after a short sniff around.  Because of this we would recommend homes up to four hours away from his foster home.

We recommend using a seatbelt restraint or travel crate whenever transporting dogs.

Things to be aware of:

Jack has allergies so with need to stay on his current diet of Purina hypoallergenic.

Jack is currently on allergy medication to keep his allergies under control; this would need to be continued in his new home.

Jack can become excitable and sometimes humps when people are sitting or lying on the floor. Firm and consistent boundaries will help to teach Jack that this is unwanted behaviour.

Sometimes Jack is excited to play but doesn’t realise his size, any young children in the home must be supervised, as he has the potential to jump and knock children over.

Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted.

Additional information From Jack’s foster family:

Jack is truly a wonderful dog. Any person or family would be honoured to have him. He’s full of life, sweet, gentle, happy. He needs a loving home with kind people.

Jack’s adoption donation fee is £500 and will need to be paid in full prior to him going home which will also be subject to a home check.

Please welcome #Jack into our Springboard family

Jack is a 19-month-old boy who found himself alone and subsequently in kennels after being found as a stray. Having served his 7-day hold, we were asked if we could help — and of course, the answer was yes

On Sunday, Jack was collected by our lovely volunteer Hannah and headed to foster in the Midlands. He’s settling in really well so far and appears to be in relatively good condition, with just a few skin issues that we’ll be supporting him with as he settles, alongside his full health check

Jack (Frost) won’t be spending Christmas in the cold this winter. Instead, he’s now enjoying the warmth, comfort and safety of a home — exactly where he belongs

Please note that Jack has only just arrived in foster and is not yet available for adoption. His applications are not open at this time, so please don’t attempt to apply for him just yet. We’ll share his adoption poster once he reaches the end of his assessment period.

Welcome to your next chapter, Jack. We’re so glad you’re part of the Springboard family
