A BIT ABOUT ME
Personality:
Jack is a beautiful boy, proof of just how incredible and forgiving this breed is. He hasn’t allowed his difficult and sad beginnings get the better of him.
Jack is a high energy boy with a playful and affectionate nature.
Jack loves a ball and will play fetch forever; he will eat the ball if not watched with it.
Jack will initiate play and affection from his humans and other dogs in the home and loves a good cuddle.
Behaviour:
Jack is an intelligent and energetic boy; we would recommend ongoing obedience training as he is best when he is engaged and mentally stimulated.
Jack can become overwhelmed with new things and new environments he will start off shy and may take him a little while to open to his new family, but a little bit of patience and reassurance he will bloom into the happiest and most loving boy.
Jack struggles with separation anxiety during the day, however, settles well at night.
Jack’s sad past has let him with mental scars, he is terrified of shouting or anything that can be perceived as aggressive, he will cower and tremble.
Needs:
Jack needs a calm home with an active family, who understands his past life and can be compassionate and dedicated to his needs.
Confident in the breed and able to keep firm boundaries in place.
Jack needs someone home the majority of the day.
Jack can live with a calm and laid-back doggy companion but would also do well as an only dog.
A garden is a must plenty of space for him to play.
Walk/exercise:
Jack loves a walk; he walks very well in company and alone.
Jack is excitable to start his walk and will pull for the first 10 minutes, his recall is good but this has been done in controlled environments.
Jack is happy to meet unfamiliar dogs whilst out and interacts well with them.
We would recommend 2 walks a day.
Toilet trained:
Jack is a good boy, as he is used to living outdoors.
He will on occasion wet his bed and will have the occasional protest poop when left alone.
Travel:
Jack travels well, because of this we will accept applications of up to 4 hours from his current location.
We recommend using a seatbelt restraint or travel crate whenever transporting dogs.
Things to be aware of:
Jacks’ beginnings weren’t easy, he was subjected to living in an extremely large pack of mastiffs where he had to fight to protect himself forced to live outdoors. Jack must have his own space where he can retire to when he needs too.
Jack has settled wonderfully in foster, but it has been a slow and steady allowing him the time he needs to trust his new environment and know that he is safe from harm.
Sometimes Jack is excited to play but doesn’t realise his size, any young children in the home must be supervised, as he has the potential to jump and knock children over.
Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted. Jack must not be disturbed or startled whilst he is asleep.
Additional information:
Jack’s history is a sad one, him living outdoors as a yard dog bullied by the large breed dogs he lived with. Jack’s future however is bright, with the right family who are keen to give him the life he deserves.
Jack’s adoption donation fee is £400 and will need to be paid in full prior to him going home which will also be subject to a home check.

A little of Jack’s story below,
Jack
Please welcome Jack to our Springboard Family.
Jacks story is a shocking one and its down to his foster dad that he is even alive today, let alone in foster.
About 6 weeks ago, Ade was alerted to the stunning boy who is Jack. Ade had received a call from his vet asking if he could save Jack from being PTS.
Ade has fostered for us before and he contacted us to make us aware of this boy who has just turned 5 and then made his way to the vet to see what the situation was.
Ade saved Jack who was 14 minutes away from death..!! and that’s no exaggeration
To say Jacks homelife was chaotic is an understatement. He was mainly a yard dog, living with 7 Mastiffs. He had been owned since a puppy and fights had been breaking out between the dogs.
The fights were escalating so the owner decided Jack was the problem and rather than put some effort into finding him a loving new home, this year his Christmas Present was to end his life..!!
This is how much Jack meant to the owner, his was life was not important enough.
Ade stayed in contact with Jacks owners for several weeks since they had taken him to be PTS and was seeing Jack regularly to assess him for us.
After many discussions, the owners agreed not to have him PTS and to hand Jack over to us as the fights were becoming worse and Ade was concerned Jack would be killed by the pack.
Jack is now in foster with Ade and his 2 dogs, Harvey who is blind & Little Lil, and so far, Jack hasn’t put a paw wrong and he is decompressing in a calm home environment.
Jack is already neutered so he will have a vet check and then spend some time with Ade & his dogs so we can assess his behaviour.
Thank you for saving Jack Ade, and for taking him into your home, we are very grateful. So welcome to the rest of your life Jack, your Springboard journey starts here.
