Dogs name:
Loki

Age: 2 years old

Current location: Birmingham.

I CAN LIVE WITH

Children: Yes, dog savvy children.

Cats: No.

Dogs: Yes, calm & laid-back females, who must be accepting of other dogs in the home.

A BIT ABOUT ME

Personality:

Loki is an affectionate person centred bulldog.

He is a laid-back boy happiest at your side where he can get all the attention and affection he wants.

Behaviour:

Loki understands the majority of commands.

Loki may start off anxious, but as soon as he trusts you he will be your best friend.

He isn’t a playful boy, much prefers to chill out at the side of his person.

Needs:

Loki needs a calm and patient family environment with a family who can instil boundaries.

He will benefit from a calm female companion or can be an only dog.

A garden is a must for this boy as he loves to relax outdoors in the sun.

Walk/exercise:

Loki loves his walks, he walks very well with company or alone.

Loki is happy to interact with unfamiliar dogs whilst out and loved meeting new people.

Toilet trained:

Yes Loki is a very good boy, he will stand at the door to make you aware he needs to go out.

Travel:

Loki loves a car ride he can get a little excited to start, but he will settle quickly. Because of this we will accept applications of up to 4 hours from his current location.

We recommend using a seatbelt restraint or travel crate whenever transporting dogs.

Things to be aware of:

Loki has hip dysplasia, it is recommend that his weight is controlled to reduce the strain on his hips. There is no surgical intervention to treat hip dysplasia. He may need anti inflammatories in the future. We would advise putting him on a joint supplement. Loki remains an active boy.

Loki has allergies, he will need to remain on his current hypoallergenic diet and may need apoquel should his allergies flare. .

Loki has recently undergone BOAS and is healing beautifully, his BOAS will not need further intervention.

Sometimes Loki is excited to play but doesn’t realise his size, any young children in the home must be supervised, as he has the potential to jump and knock children over.

Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted.

Additional information:

Loki is an incredible young boy that is learning to love life now he has had BOAS. If you are looking for a boy to help thrive and reach their full potential then Loki is your boy.

Loki’s adoption donation fee is £500 and will need to be paid in full prior to him going home which will also be subject to a home check.

A little about Loki’s story below

Please join us in welcoming Loki to the loving arms of our GBSR family.

Loki is a 2-year-old male who has had a challenging journey.

His family reached out to us multiple times, but we were unable to help due to our limited availability.

Their last plea was filled with desperation, and we knew we had to act.

Loki’s little girl has severe allergies, and on the advice of her consultant, the family got a dog to help boost her immune system and build tolerance to pet allergies. Unfortunately, this attempt did not succeed, and the little girl now suffers from severe eczema covering her from head to toe.

We couldn’t let this family or Loki endure any more suffering. Loki was being kept away from the daughter, but even the slightest hair on clothing or furniture would worsen her condition.

This situation affected Loki’s care, leaving him with sore skin, paws, and ears due to yeast build-up. The family felt trapped, unable to find a solution that didn’t cause suffering for either their daughter or Loki.

A huge thank you to Katie Mockett and her family for opening their hearts and home to our beautiful boy.

Loki is now in foster care in the Midlands and is settling in well. Our very own CeCe (adopted) is helping him learn the ropes, with foster brother Ralph joining in too. Loki has had his first of many soothing baths and will be seeing our vet soon.

Welcome to your new adventure, Loki. We wonder if you’ll live up to the mischievous nature of your name!

With a bit of TLC and care, you’ll be in tip-top condition and ready to find your forever home
