A BIT ABOUT ME
Personality:
Lola is a loving, loyal and affectionate girl with a big personality that continues to shine more each day. She thrives on human companionship and adores cuddles, kisses and being included in everyday life. Whether it’s heading out on an adventure or curling up for a snuggle, Lola simply wants to be close to her people. She’s a sassy little lady who enjoys keeping busy and has quickly won over everyone she’s met with her sweet nature and pretty face.
As she has settled into foster care, her cheeky and sassy side has really started to come through. She has a funny little personality and clearly knows how to make herself the centre of attention in the sweetest way. She can be a little submissive or cautious when first meeting new people, sometimes cowering initially, but once she realises she is safe she warms up quickly and becomes friendly and affectionate.
Overall, Lola is a sensitive girl who will need owners willing to continue building her confidence. With the right people around her, she is the sort of dog who will become deeply loyal, loving and completely devoted to her family.
Behaviour:
Lola already knows a few basic commands and has shown she is very capable of learning more. She understands “sit” and “wait” well, and she also responds to “leave” when instructed. Her foster carer mentioned that she learned “sit” whilst in foster care, which shows she is intelligent and responds well to consistent guidance and training.
Lola doesn’t appear to enjoy rough play very much. Her foster carers found that she would much rather have cuddles, fuss and affection from her people than engage in boisterous games. She has a gentle, affectionate nature and seems happiest when she is close to her humans being stroked or snuggled.
She has shown some interest in toys and random objects like a slipper, a log from the fireplace or an antler horn, but her attention span with them is fairly short. Overall, Lola seems far more people-oriented than toy-driven and prefers calm interaction and companionship over rough or overly energetic play.
Needs:
Lola is looking for a home where she can be treated as a true companion and included in everyday life. She thrives on human interaction, affection and reassurance, so she will need owners who have plenty of time for cuddles, companionship and continuing her bond with people. She enjoys going out and about, exploring new places and being involved in adventures, so she would suit a reasonably active home that can give her both mental stimulation and quality time.
Lola has never lived with children in a home environment, so because of this we feel it would be most appropriate for her to be placed in a home with children aged 12 years and above. Whilst Lola has been calm and unbothered by children she has encountered whilst out and about, she has not been assessed living alongside younger children on a daily basis.
She will benefit from owners who can continue her training and help build on the good foundations already started in foster care. Lola is intelligent and eager to learn, but she can also be a little stubborn at times, so she will need patient, consistent guidance and clear boundaries. Ongoing work around her social skills and boundaries will also be important to help her continue developing into a well-rounded companion.
As Lola has shown some jealously towards other dogs we feel she would do best as the only dog in the home, where she can enjoy all the love, attention and stability for herself. She is very people-focused and happiest when she is close to her family, so a home where someone is around for a good portion of the day would suit her well.
She would likely benefit from access to a secure garden where she can relax and potter about safely, and she could live with respectful children who understand dog boundaries.
Most importantly, Lola needs a loving home that understands her sensitive, affectionate nature and is willing to continue helping her grow in confidence. In return, she will give endless loyalty, companionship and love.
Walk/exercise:
Lola really enjoys getting out and about and loves being included in everyday adventures with her people. She walks well on the lead overall and is happy exploring new places, although she can occasionally pull when excited. When corrected, she responds well and settles nicely back into the walk. She already understands “wait”, which is helpful when out and about, and she has shown she is eager to learn with continued guidance.
She is currently used to walking on her own, but has also joined group Bullie walks where she behaved very well and appeared to enjoy the experience. Lola enjoys meeting people during walks and is generally friendly when out in public.
Her recall is progressing well, although it still needs continued practice in busier or more distracting environments. Lola would suit a reasonably active home that can provide regular walks, opportunities to explore and plenty of mental stimulation alongside her exercise.
Whilst she enjoys being active and busy, Lola is not overly demanding physically. After a nice walk or outing, she is more than happy to settle down for cuddles and relax with her family.
Toilet trained:
Lola is fully house trained and has had no issues with toileting in foster care. Her foster carer uses the command “business”, and Lola understands this well, going straight outside to do what she needs to do. She has been clean in the home and has settled nicely into a routine.
Travel:
Lola travels well in the car and is comfortable being transported in a crate in the boot. She settles nicely once she’s in and is generally relaxed during journeys.
Occasionally, she can be a little reluctant to get out of the car when she arrives at her destination, but once her lead is on and she understands she’s going somewhere fun, she’s happy to get on with things. Overall, she’s a confident and calm traveller who copes well with being taken out and about. Because of this we would consider homes up to four hours away from her foster home.
We recommend using a seatbelt restraint or travel crate whenever transporting dogs.
**TRANSPORTING DURING WARMER WEATHER IT IS IMPORTANT TO KEEP THE CAR AS COOL AS POSSIBLE**
Things to be aware of:
Lola will be rehomed on a spay contract and will be re called in August for her spay procedure. The charity will contribute up to £350 towards the cost of a standard spay.
Sometimes Lola is excited to play but doesn’t realise her size, any young children in the home must be supervised, as she has the potential to jump and knock children over.
Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted.

Please welcome #Lola into the arms of the Springboard family

Lola is a young girl, just two years old, who was heartbreakingly found alone, foraging for scraps at a campsite — scared, hungry, and with no one looking out for her
After serving her seven-day hold in kennels, we were contacted and asked if we could take her… and there was no way we could say no to those eyes. Yesterday, Lola’s life began to change. She was collected by Sherrill and safely transported to Andy in the South East, where — for the very first time in what we can only imagine has been a long time — she slept in the warmth and safety of a home
A soft place to rest, a full belly, and the quiet comfort of knowing she wasn’t alone anymore. A huge thank you to Sherrill for helping bring Lola to safety, and to Andy for opening your home and your heart to her
Today, Lola visited our vets. She’s now on antibiotics for a suspected urine infection and anti-inflammatories for her sore, inflamed foot. She is underweight, and her little body shows signs of having been used for breeding… and then discarded when she was no longer needed. It’s hard to imagine what she’s been through. But what we do know is this — her story doesn’t end there. With the right care, nourishing food, gentle hands, and all the love she has always deserved, Lola will begin to heal… not just physically, but emotionally too. She has a journey ahead of her, but she will never have to face it alone again

Welcome to the Springboard family, beautiful girl — this is where your new life begins
