A BIT ABOUT ME

Personality:

Mabel is a beautiful, and charming young lady.

Mabel is the epitome of a companion dog; she just loves to be with her humans.

Mabel is a wonderfully affectionate girl, who thrives on all physical contact, she will happily initiate all fuss and cuddles.

Behaviour:

Mabel can be afraid of sudden loud noises and can be vocal, she will soon settle with reassurance.

Mabel is a typical young bulldog who can become over excited when it comes to rough play, a firm no is needed to calm her down which she responds well to.

Mabel loves playing with toys, she can become overexcited and catch you with her teeth but it’s never intentional.

Mabel knows her basic commands, she knows sit, paw, and bed. She is eager to please especially if a treat is involved

Needs:

Mabel needs a patient family who is prepared to put in time with continued training to help grow the bond between you and Mabel.

Mabel needs a calm but active home environment with a family that are happy to have her involved in all aspects of family life.

A garden is a must for Mabel to play and explore.

Walk/exercise:

Mabel is very energetic and loves her walks.

Mabel will pull on the lead so will need ongoing training in this area.

Mabel isn’t keen to meet other dogs when on a walk, she will bark at them so will need ongoing training to help her with this.

Toilet trained:

Yes, Mabel is a good girl

Travel:

Mabel travels well, because of this we would consider homes up to four hours away.

We recommend using a seatbelt restraint or travel crate whenever transporting dogs.

Things to be aware of:

Mabel is frightened by the noise of motorbikes or loud noises and is constantly on the hunt for a plastic bottle she has the tendency to lunge so extra care needs to be taken especially when walking near a road.

Mabel is due to be spayed on the 11th March, therefore she will be ready to go home 10 days after pending sign off from the vet.

Sometimes Mabel is excited to play but doesn’t realise her size, any young children in the home must be supervised, as she has the potential to jump and knock children over.

Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted.

Additional information from Mabel’s foster:

Mabel is a happy dog, very much still like a puppy and full of energy and adores to entertain herself playing with her toys, she does tear through her toys in quick fashion though! Very well behaved when left on her own as well and also is the cleanest dog I’ve ever owned, doesn’t even have an odour. She has the most gorgeous little smile with her face when you get home after 10mins or 4hrs, the biggest miss I’m going to have of her. Very playful in the day and as soon as it’s 7 o’clock she loves to sleep and not wake up! Mabel loves to be outdoors and exploring, she is a very very happy dog and loves to walk from plastic bottle to plastic bottle! Massively loving dog who loves time, energy and affection placed solely on her.

Mabel’s adoption donation fee is £500 and will need to be paid in full prior to her going home which will also be subject to a home check.

A little of Mabel’s story below,

Please welcome Mabel to her Springboard family

Mabel is a two year old entire girl.
Sadly, she’s been displaying jealous behaviour towards the other two resident dogs in the home so her owner asked us for help as she wanted to keep her girl safe and protect her from falling into the wrong hands.

Thank you to our foster Michael Jones for collecting Mabel and for opening up your home to this little cutie, we truly appreciate you

She has settled in really well in such a short amount of time, Mabel’s foster dad is truly spoiling her! That’s what we love to see

So please, let’s welcome this little lady into her foster journey and her new life with GBSR

Welcome to your Springboard Family beautiful Mabel

Please don’t try and apply for Mabel as she will need a period of assessment and her spay, but you can follow her journey on our Facebook Community Group to
