Minnie – Now Adopted
Minnie is an active girl who loves playing tug of war and ball games. She isn’t overly cuddly, but she does like being stroked, she also likes a bit of rough play. She is her foster mums shadow in the home and interested in everything that’s going on.
She walks well on her lead and harness and will look up looking for reassurance. She is mostly very friendly to other dogs but can try and be dominant on occasion, but her foster parents will remove her and tell her NO; and praise her for good behaviour with training treats when she is out. Ongoing training will be required.
Minnie can follow commands such as sit, wait and leave and needs to be reminded to take treats out of hand, nicely as she loves her food and tries to get at it quickly.
Dogs Name: Minnie (Minnie Mouse)
Age: 5 Years old
Can live with children: Yes
Can live with dogs: Yes, laid back
Can live with cats: Yes, has previously lived with cats
Current location: Hampshire
Things to be Aware of:
Minnie can be reactive to food which makes her itchy, so she is on a raw diet which is working well for her. Her foster mum can advise on Brand and portion sizes.
The Ideal Family:
Minnie will be equally happy with or without children in the home. She is currently in foster with a 5 year old child and its felt she could be rehomed with children aged 5 years and over as she is a lively girl..
She is a happy, playful and active girl so her new home will need to commit to walking Minnie and providing playtime and also be prepared to keep up the positive reinforcement training with her when she behaves well.
Other comments:
Minnie has settled back in foster very well, she takes new situations in her stride and doesn’t appear to have any flashpoints.
She has lived with a laid back male Bulldog before without any problems but she can be bossy so any dog in the home will have to be laid back.
Minnie is toilet trained and can be left up to 4 hours. She is spayed and up to date with her vaccinations and travels well so we will consider a new home up to 4 hours from her current location in Hampshire
If you have any questions, please ask Louise Boaler, Minnie’s foster mum
Minnies adoption fee is £300 and will need to be paid in full prior to her going home which will also be subject to a home check.
