A BIT ABOUT ME
Personality:
Nella has the most affectionate and loving nature.
She adores her humans eagerly instigating physical affection and play.
Nella’s happy go lucky character will bring so much love and laughter to her family. She is one of those dog’s that the more you are able to commit and put in with her, the more she will give to you.
Behaviour:
Nella loves to play; she loves toys and will bring them to her humans when it is time to play.
Nella understands her basic commands and is eager to please and learn.
Nella is anxious around other dogs; she much prefers her humans to herself. Nella can be reactive towards a dog she perceives as intimidating, overwhelming her space or reactive towards her.
Nella is playful, she loves toys and balls, but her gentle demeanour does not like rough play.
Needs:
Nella needs an active family environment, with a family who can keep her involved in all that is daily life.
Nella needs a family who have the time to encourage her training and build the bond between Nella and her humans.
A garden is a must for this playful girl.
Nella will need to be an only dog.
Walk/exercise:
Nella loves her walks; she will be very excited.
Nella will walk ahead but slows down but with very little pulling.
Nella will need ongoing training with her walks, to help build her confidence around dogs.
Nella’s reactions towards dogs are defensive working on the bond between you and Nella and making sure her humans can advocate for her will continue to improve her reactions towards other dogs outside the home.
Toilet trained:
Yes, Nella is a good girl, she will bark at the door to be let out.
Travel:
Nella travels very well, she will settle where she is put. Because of this we will accept applications of up to 4 hours away from her current location.
We recommend using a seatbelt restraint or travel crate whenever transporting dogs.
Things to be aware of:
Nella will be adopted on a “to be spayed” contract she will be recalled at a date deemed suitable for Nella. The spay will be conducted at a vet of the charity’s choosing, cost covered by the charity.
Sometimes Nella is excited to play but doesn’t realise her size, any young children in the home must be supervised, as Nella has the potential to jump and knock children over.
Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted.
Additional information:
Nella’s happy go lucky, joyful character makes her an ideal family pet. She will quickly become the centre of her family unit and will make every day a happy and full filled one. Nella is one of those dog’s that makes it impossible to be sad with her around.
Nella’s adoption donation fee is £350 and will need to be paid in full prior to her going home which will also be subject to a home check.
**Every dog rehomed by GBSR receives Rescue Back-up for their whole Life. And the admin team are available for advice and support for the whole of that dog’s lifetime via Messenger, therefore the successful applicant will need to have an active Facebook and Messenger account for the life of the dog. If you cannot agree to this, please don’t apply**

Nella in foster South East
Let’s welcome Nella into the GBSR family.
Nella was another stray that found herself in a London Kennels. We were alerted to Nella by the kennels, and urgently put a shout out for a foster and transport so we could get this girl in a foster home before Christmas day.
We want to extend huge thanks to Anuradha Tiwari Maher for collecting Nella for us and transporting her to her foster home with Martin Parsons. We know everyone is so busy at this time of year, so we are very grateful to you for stepping in to help this little girl.
Thank you very much to Martin, who welcomed Nella into his home saving her from any further nights in the kennels, we are very thankful to you.
Nella is 5 years old, she has been bred from and we believe her to be entire.
She was exhausted from her 7 days in kennels and after a quick inspection of her new foster home, Nella slept in her new bed soft bed.
Bless her, she has been such a good girl, she has displayed no anxiety, she is clean, playful, loving and she is a very well-adjusted girl.
Today is ‘spa day’ where she will have a good pamper session with a lovely bath and nail trim.
Nella will be seeing our vet in due course, but we are hoping the only consideration for her treatment plan will be her spay.
