A BIT ABOUT ME
Personality:
Nelly is a calm and affectionate lady who adores her people and will actively seek you out for attention and affection.
Her laid-back and gentle nature makes her the ideal companion, she will even enjoy the occasional conversation as she loves to talk to you.
Nelly is truly happiest cuddled at your side.
Behaviour:
Nelly’s gentle nature means she doesn’t respond to rough play; she will push your hands out the way to get a cuddle.
Also makes her very gentle around children of all ages.
Nelly knows her basic commands, she is really responsive to her humans and keen to please. Working on her training will allow a bond to flourish.
Nelly is highly anxious of dogs in her space, this can make her reactive as she wants to keep them as far away from her as possible. This is fear based reactivity.
Needs:
Nelly needs a calm home environment with an active family who will keep her involved in daily life and adventures.
Nelly can be reactive towards dogs in her direct space; she will need a family who will be committed to helping her anxieties around other dogs putting the time in it will take with training.
A garden is an absolute must for her to play and explore in.
Walk/exercise:
Nelly loves her walks; she walks very well on her lead and enjoys exploring her environment.
Nelly can be reactive when meeting unfamiliar dogs on walks, we would encourage her family to work on her training and build her confidence. This behaviour will change in time and she will learn she has no need to be afraid.
Toilet trained:
Nelly, is a good girl.
Travel:
Nelly can become anxious when travelling so will need regular breaks and someone to keep her calm and reassured, because of this we will consider applications up to 2 hours away.
We recommend using a seatbelt restraint or travel crate whenever transporting dogs.
Things to be aware of:
Nelly was born with slightly bowed front legs, We would recommend supplements like Yumove to support her joints.
Nelly has recently had surgery to remove the benign masses, she has recovered really well and has had the all clear from the vets.
Sometimes Nelly doesn’t realise her size, any young children in the home must be supervised, as he has the potential to jump and knock children over.
Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted. Nelly’s ears need regular cleaning as the opening is extremely narrow.
Additional information:
If you are looking for a dog to spend your days loving life, laughing and someone to have deep conversations with then Nelly is the lady for you.
Nelly’s reactive behaviour is fear based, with continued training to build her confidence and her relationships within her family unit she will thrive. She is highly intelligent and craves a close bond with her humans. Training will only improve the bonds all round and ensure that this beautiful little lady reaches her incredible potential.
Nelly’s adoption donation fee is £400 and will need to be paid in full prior to going home which will also be subject to a home check.

A little of Nelly’s story below,
Nellie
Another poor girl dumped at the age of 7!!
Nellie is a 7 year old unneutered little lady who found herself in kennels.
It’s the usual story, breed your dog then throw them away like garbage when the puppies stop coming because they meant nothing more to you than a bundle of cash…!!
Nellie was found wandering the streets and spent 7 days in the Pound before we agreed to collect her.
We want to thank Cath Hall for collecting Nellie for us and for offering to foster Nellie. Thank you so much Cath, its very much appreciated
Nellie has clearly been bred from several times and she has patches of hair missing from her back and around her tail area.
She is a bit weak and wobbly on her back end and she spends time sitting and shuffling rather than walking.
This indicates to us that she has spent a lot of time in a crate or very restricted area and her leg muscles will need to be gradually built up to strengthen them.
She isn’t sure of Zeus her new fur bro, so Cath is taking things slowly with them and walking them together, and we are hopeful she will accept him in time
This gorgeous girl will continue to decompress over the next few days and will be visiting our vets for her health check ASAP!
Please don’t ask to apply for Nellie as she will require a period of assessment.
So lets welcome Nellie to her springboard journey, you life will only get better from now on
So welcome to your Springboard Family Nellie, this is where your new life begins.
