A BIT ABOUT ME
Personality:
Norma is the epitome of family best friend; she thrives in the company of her humans.
She has the most affectionate and loving nature; she adores all humans and loves being around children seeking them out for kisses, cuddles and fuss whenever she can.
Norma
Behaviour:
Norma is learning how to be a dog slowly; toys and play is still new to her.
She will rough play with her foster dad and can be mouthy, but she is gentle and will stop when told.
Norma will seek out attention and play, from both her humans and other dogs in the home.
Needs:
Norma needs a calm but active family environment one who will keep Norma involved with all that is daily life.
Norma’s family must understand the needs of a dog with allergies.
Norma needs a calm but playful doggy companion, who will keep her company when her humans can’t and continue to help build her confidence.
A garden is a must.
Walk/exercise:
Norma walks better in company, as she builds her confidence.
She walks well on the lead and doesn’t pull.
Norma can be excitable meeting unfamiliar dogs and can pull to them.
Toilet trained:
Norma is a very good girl, she will stand at the door to alert you to her needs.
Norma may have the odd accident initially, but once she understands what is expected of her she will.
Travel:
Norma loves a car ride; she will curl up and go to sleep.
Because of this we will accept applications of up to 4 hours from her current location.
We recommend using a seatbelt restraint or travel crate whenever transporting dogs.
**TRANSPORTING DURING WARMER WEATHER IT IS IMPORTANT TO KEEP THE CAR AS COOL AS POSSIBLE**
Things to be aware of:
Norma has allergies we believe to be a mix of both food and environmental.
Norma has recently started Citopoint injections to help with her allergies. This will need to continue and be the responsibility of her new family.
You can manage costs by requesting a prescription from your vet with repeats and order the medication online.
Pet drugs online – Citopoint 20mg £119.99 x2 vials (2 doses)
Norma will need to stay on her hypoallergenic kibble and will need a weekly bath.
Norma came into foster with kennel cough, during this time BOAS was a considered. However, since the treatment for the infection, Norma’s all-round health and breathing has greatly improved.
Potentially Norma may need BOAS surgery in the future, and this would be the responsibility of her forever family, should they not be able to continue to manage it through lifestyle and dietary control.
Norma will be adopted on a “to be spayed” contract. She will be recalled at a time deemed suitable by the charity. The spay will be completed by a vet of the charities choosing costs covered by the charity.
Sometimes Norma is excited to play but doesn’t realise her size, any young children in the home must be supervised, as Norma has the potential to jump and knock children over.
Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted.
Additional information from Norma’s foster family:
Norma has been an absolute delight to foster, she has stolen the whole families’ hearts, she is so sweet and loving. It is going to be a very sad goodbye when she gets her forever family, but they will be so lucky to be able to have her in their life!
I will miss her cheeky squishy face giving me the most adorable puppy dog eyes because she wants cuddles on the sofa.
Norma’s adoption donation fee is £450 and will need to be paid in full prior to her going home which will also be subject to a home check.

A little of Norma’s story below,
Let us introduce Norma rescued from a wretched life of ‘existing’ not living
Norma is 4 years old and tragically, she was owned by someone who didn’t care for her in any way whatsoever as you will see
We are taking you to the place Norma found herself in …. you are bred from, you are used, abused and neglected for 4 years until your skin is screaming every moment you are awake, your ears are full of infection, your eyes weep every time you blink and your body is covered in open, untreated sores and callouses
And then, just to make your misery complete, late one night, you are taken out of the place you call home, and offered to a homeless person on the street. This person thinks its a joke and says yes … but its not a joke, its another step in the tragedy that is Norma’s life
And just like that Norma is on the street, unwanted by her previous owner and now unwanted by her new owner
Are your hearts aching? because quite frankly, ours were broken when the dog warden contacted us about Norma & we immediately jumped into action to get her into the comfort of a home where she was wanted and could be properly cared for
The dog warden had taken Norma off the street and straight to a vet who started her on antibiotics, steroids and bravecto, and then steps were made by us, to get her into foster.
We want to thank Amanda Ashworth for taking Norma into foster for us. We are very grateful for you stepping forward to collect Norma from her holding kennel, and to take into your home and to the 1st step to her new life ,Thank you
After a life of misery, Norma just wants to please, and to watch her trying so hard is heart breaking and humbling in equal measures
How neglected & abused dogs can forgive us, is a testament to their belief that somewhere, somehow, someone will love them, they just keep on trying to please no matter how much cruelty they endure
Norma’s treatment and neglect is disgusting and unforgivable, but still she has the most beautiful soul, and she has settled into the warmth and kindness offered in her foster home by Amanda
She has met the resident cat which is a work in progress and she has also tried to instigate play with the resident Staffie, Ryka – who was way to cool to start playing, but we are sure Norma’s enthusiasm will soon work its magic
Norma will need a prolonged programme of meds, hypoallergenic foods and possibly eye surgery as well as her spay.
If you would like to contribute to Norma’s journey of healing, please feel free to donate any amount towards her care by using the links below using reference ‘Norma’ if prompted.
