Odie – Now Adopted!

This is your warning to grab tissues – you’re in for an emotional ride
We have a story about a little boy called #Odie

Odie first joined us in foster in 2021 where unfortunately since that day, he has been in and out of our care, he hasn’t had a proper home to call his own. Over the years when Odie has been back with us, he’s become more and more reserved..

We had hoped and prayed his last home would be his last home.. sadly it wasn’t meant to be. Odie came back to us just before Christmas and straight into the wonderful Ben & Kate’s home.

As their first foster with us we didn’t make it easy, but wow they rose to the challenge of handsome Odie! He made himself at home immediately and really came into his own  we loved seeing how settled he became with Ben & Kate! It was beautiful to see!

When the announcement went out to find a home for Odie, we were prepared that it would take some time to find our special boy a home, but we knew our prayers and calls would be answered by the perfect humans.

The day came, Julia and Darren applied were they perfect? YES!!

When the morning came of Julia and Darren collecting their new boy, disaster struck! Odie had tore his cruciate ligament.. he was having a last minute playtime before his new owners came and fell on his leg !

We were all in tears, was this going to put a stop to him going home?? Will they want him?? What happens now!?

We did everything we could to take care of Odie and to update Darren and Julia on their Odie.

When we assumed the worst of Odies future, not only would he potential need more scans, surgery, physiotherapy … he may lose his forever home

What happened next made us overwhelmed with kindness and love, they wanted to stick by him, they wanted to carry on building a bond with him whilst he remained in foster. We couldn’t be more thankful to them and to his incredible fosters for sticking by him.

Darren and Julia your love for Odie and what you’re willing to do for him is so formidable.

Odie will continue his hydrotherapy and lasertherapy with his new owners, Darren and Julia, we will continue to monitor and support them where need be

Kate & Ben, thank you for being the most amazing foster parents to Odie, you’ve been so wonderful to him and we are so grateful to you. Dianne (Kate’s mum) thank you for assisting in the last few weeks of Odies care

The biggest congratulations to Odies new parents, Darren and Julia! We can’t wait to see Odie flourish in your love and care. We will look forward to seeing his updates!

Please everyone send your congrats to Odie, Darren and Julia!!!

A little of Odie’s story below,

Please can you welcome Odie back into the arms of his springboard family.

Odie has been in a foster to adopt home, but due to ill health, he has been returned to us.

Sadly, Odie is a ‘boomerang boy’ he has ‘gone home’ a couple of times before, but he always finds his way back to us for 1 reason or another.

He can be complex, and it takes time for him to settle, but every time he moves, that settling period seems to take a little longer, but we understand and expect that and he can take all the time he needs to come to terms with this upheaval.

Odie is in foster in Wales with Kate and Ben and after an unsettled 1st night, Odie is starting to decompress.

He is a little bit chunky, so the plan is to get some weight off and start exercising him.

Odie adores walking, its a favourite thing for him so his foster mum and dad will be making sure he gets plenty of outdoors time.

Please send your love to this boy, he really needs to catch a break – welcome back Odie.
