A BIT ABOUT ME

Personality:

Odie is the ultimate “mans bestfriend” he adores his humans and bonds closely with them.

He is affectionate and will seek you out for attention and physical affection.

Odie loves to be out and about enjoying an adventure in the great outdoors.

Behaviour:

Odie is easily over stimulated by children and all the noise that comes along with them, this boy hasn’t a malicious bone in his body, he just has no idea how to react or behave around them.

Odie doesn’t like to share his humans; he likes to be number 1 in the family.

Needs:

Odie needs a calm but active adult family environment.

Odie needs a family who can continue with him on his journey with training and boundaries, to ensure he reaches his incredible potential.

A garden is a must.

Walk/exercise:

Odie loves his walks; he may start out strong but walks well on a short leash.

Odie can be reactive towards dogs at times so must be kept on lead.

Odie is an active boy and thrives with a good exercise routine, he is the ideal dog for someone who enjoys long hikes, country and beach walks.

Toilet trained:

Yes, Odie is a good boy.

Travel:

Odie can be anxious travelling, and will bark when people approach the car.

With reassurance he will settle, because of this we will accept applications of up to 3 hours from his current location.

We recommend using a seatbelt restraint or travel crate whenever transporting dogs.

Things to be aware of:

Odie’s past has had a long-lasting effect on him, he is on medication to help his anxiety which he has thrived on.

Odie thrives with routine and understanding is place in the home.

Odie cannot be rehomed with children or other pets.

Additional information from Odie’s foster:

Odie is a super loving affectionate boy. He just loves to be beside you and sneak in a kiss and cuddle, or a belly rub and give you his famous Odie paw.

He is full of energy and loves his walks. Whether it’s the beach, around the park or out in the fields he loves to get out and stretch his legs and have a trot. We have been walking him up to 4km a day which he adores and helps to work off his energy, before then relaxing and napping all day. He’s perfectly content just lying beside you and opening an eye every so often to make sure your there.

He is very well toilet trained and has had no accidents at all. He will sleep through the night and likes to be tucked in his bed with his blanket and a goodnight cuddle. He loves a lie in especially on a Sunday morning and enjoys being in his crate when he is left alone – he has gotten so good at this over the last few weeks.

He is just a loving boy who thrives with a good routine and would be amazing with family who are in to give him time and affection. He is a very intelligent dog and adapted very well and quickly to our routine.

Odie’s adoption donation fee is £400 and will need to be paid in full prior to him going home which will also be subject to a home check.

A little of Odie’s story below,

Please can you welcome Odie back into the arms of his springboard family.

Odie has been in a foster to adopt home, but due to ill health, he has been returned to us.

Sadly, Odie is a ‘boomerang boy’ he has ‘gone home’ a couple of times before, but he always finds his way back to us for 1 reason or another.

He can be complex, and it takes time for him to settle, but every time he moves, that settling period seems to take a little longer, but we understand and expect that and he can take all the time he needs to come to terms with this upheaval.

Odie is in foster in Wales with Kate and Ben and after an unsettled 1st night, Odie is starting to decompress.

He is a little bit chunky, so the plan is to get some weight off and start exercising him.

Odie adores walking, its a favourite thing for him so his foster mum and dad will be making sure he gets plenty of outdoors time.

Please send your love to this boy, he really needs to catch a break – welcome back Odie.
