A BIT ABOUT ME
Personality:
Pablo is a big softie, affectionate, gentle, and full of love. He’s a real teddy bear who enjoys company, cuddles, and attention.
Pablo thrives on human contact, whether it’s a belly rub, a gentle stroke, or curling up near you for company, he just wants to be part of family life.
Pablo is the definition of a loyal companion. He enjoys a mix of play and peace, happily joining you for walks before curling up for a nap nearby. A true sweetheart ready to bring warmth and comfort to his forever home.
Behaviour:
Pablo enjoys playtime and can be bouncy when he’s feeling playful, but he’s also happy to settle himself down for a quiet nap when he’s had enough.
Pablo is friendly, affectionate, and eager to please. He’s relaxed around people, non-reactive to dogs on walks, and gentle with children.
Pablo doesn’t like rough play but enjoys games and interactive toys. He has no guarding issues around food or toys and is happy to share or give them up.
Pablo knows “sit”and “paw”, though he tends to follow commands best when he’s motivated by attention or treats. His foster carers have been working on improving his recall, but at the moment it’s limited, he doesn’t reliably come back when called yet, so continued practice in a secure area is recommended.
Needs:
Pablo would thrive in a loving home where he is the only dog and can enjoy regular walks, playtime, and plenty of affection.
Pablo adjusts well to his environment but appreciates having his own space or quiet area to retreat to when he needs downtime.
Pablo loves his walks and will benefit from daily exercise to keep him happy and healthy. He enjoys exploring new places, meeting people, and having a chance to stretch his legs. Consistent, gentle lead training will help him learn to manage his excitement, especially at the start of walks.
Pablo’s ideal home would be calm and predictable, with patient owners who understand his sensitive side and can offer quiet reassurance when needed.
Walk/exercise:
Pablo loveshis walks! He gets very excited when the harness comes out and can pull a little on the lead due to enthusiasm. He currently walks on a harness which helps manage this.
Pablo is happy to walk alone or occasionally alongside another calm dog. He’s non-reactive to other dogs and ignores them even when they show interest or bark at him.
Pablo would benefit from regular, moderate exercise, two or three shorter walks a day suit him perfectly. He’s not a high-energy dog, but he enjoys getting out and needs that balance between activity and rest. After his walk, he’s content to settle down at home and snooze.
Toilet trained:
Yes, Pablo is a good boy
Travel:
Pablo travels really well, because of this we would consider homes up to four hours from his location
We recommend using a seatbelt restraint or travel crate whenever transporting dogs.
Things to be aware of:
Pablo is allergic to chicken, beef and grains so will need to stay on his current diet of Burns Pork and Potato sensitive.
Pablo recently underwent entropion surgery on both of his lower eyelids. His recovery has gone well, but his eyes can occasionally become a dry. He currently uses lubricating eye drops to keep them comfortable, and it’s likely he will need to continue with these long-term to maintain good eye health.
Pablo can be nervous of loud or sudden noises and will need a calm, understanding owner who can provide reassurance.
Sometimes Pablo is excited to play but doesn’t realise his size, any young children in the home must be supervised, as he has the potential to jump and knock children over.
Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted.

Pablo
Please welcome 4 year old Pablo into our Springboard family
Sadly, Pablo hasn’t had the best of starts
We believe he was passed to someone after his original owners wanted him gone, who left him for very long periods. He had to fight with other dogs for his food and ultimately, he was left outside in a crate…. !!
His current owner took him in nearly 2 years ago and has since started a family, but she is due to have another child soon and she feels Pablo’s quality of life will suffer so she contacted us to see if we could help. Pablo is entire and after him having such a negative start to his life, she didn’t want him falling into the wrong hands
Simon Shephard very kindly offered to foster Pablo, and he collected him at the weekend. Thank you so much Simon, we are very grateful to you for travelling to collect Pablo and for fostering him for us
Pablo has taken the move in his stride and is settling well
Pablo came in with very sticky and gunky eyes so Simon has been popping in some eye drops to keep him comfortable.
He has a vet check on Wednesday, and all being well we can book him in for his neuter and hopefully he won’t need any corrective surgery for his eyes
Pablo is a lovely boy and we are looking forward to seeing him progress through his assessment
So welcome to your Springboard journey Pablo, this is where your next chapter begins
