Penelope – Rainbow 🌈
We’re absolutely heartbroken to share that today, in the loving arms of her foster mum Laura, our beautiful Penelope crossed the rainbow bridge.
Late last week, we received the devastating news we had hoped and prayed would never come. Penelope’s test results confirmed that both of her mammary masses were cancerous. Tragically, this rare type of cancer appeared in an unusual place, and the vet feared it may have already spread.
As planned, Penelope and her best friend Reggie moved to live with Laura and her family over the weekend, ready to see the vet today to discuss treatment — to give our brave girl every possible chance at fighting this terrible illness.
But heartbreakingly, Penelope deteriorated far faster than anyone could have imagined. This morning, Laura rushed her to the vet, but there was nothing more that could be done. The kindest, most loving choice was to let Penelope cross the rainbow bridge peacefully, surrounded by love and free from pain.
Penelope, we are so, so sorry we couldn’t save you. The only comfort we can hold onto is knowing that, in your final weeks, you finally knew safety, warmth, and unconditional love.
Our deepest gratitude goes to Laura, who gave Penelope the love, comfort, and beautiful goodbye she so truly deserved.

We have heartbreaking news to share about our dear #Penelope, who has finally stepped into the light after a life spent in the shadows of relentless breeding. This sweet seven-year-old girl is longing for the peace and love she has never truly known, but time is of the essence, and she urgently needs your help.
Penelope arrived in foster care just this Monday, greeted with warmth and compassion by her dedicated foster moms, Aimee and Vicky, in Yorkshire. Our original plan was for her to stay with another dog, Reggie, but it quickly became clear that Penelope has a delicate spirit. She craves solitude and tranquility, yearning for a cozy corner to rest her weary body and a heart open to receiving love.
Before her arrival, we learned about a lump on Penelope’s leg that was supposedly benign. However, upon closer inspection, Aimee discovered multiple masses all over her fragile body. We rushed her to the vet, fearing the worst, and received the devastating news we dreaded: four separate masses have been found—one on her tail, another on her back ankle, and a full mammary strip on the left side, with a partial strip on the right. Our hearts shattered as we faced this unacceptable reality.
Yesterday, samples were taken from three of these masses, sent off for testing, and now we anxiously await results that could change everything. We are praying harder than ever that these results bring good news. The thought of our beloved Penelope facing severe health issues after being neglected for so long is unbearable. This brave girl has been treated as a mere commodity, forced to produce puppies while her own health has been disregarded.
To compound her suffering, Penelope’s temperature was on the higher end of normal, and her ears are in terrible condition. She is now on anti-inflammatories and medication to help ease her discomfort, but her treatment and the potential surgeries will be extremely costly—and that’s before we even receive the diagnosis we are dreading.
