A BIT ABOUT ME

Personality:

Phoebe is a wonderful loving girl, she loves her humans and will happily lap up all the attention.

Phoebe especially loves having her bum scratched and adores kisses and hugs. Over time, she has grown more affectionate. Whilst you’re sitting on the floor she will come over and sit on your lap. She rests her head on your face for kisses, showing her affectionate and trusting nature.

Behaviour:

Phoebe has a good understanding of basic her commands. She enjoys playing with toys, particularly balls. She loves chasing, playing, and kicking them around.

Phoebe has no toy or food possession and will allow her bowl or toys to be removed.

Needs:

Phoebe would benefit from a home that balances activity and relaxation, somewhere she can have her snuggles and downtime while also enjoying play and bursts of energy with walks.

She can have long walks.

A garden is a must for Phoebe, as she prefers to go to the toilet in the garden rather than during walks.

Walk/exercise:

Phoebe walks well on the lead overall; however, she can pull at times. She is strong and will require some ongoing training to improve her listening skills and walking to heal.

Phoebe has met other dogs on walks, she has generally been fine sniffing them and then happily continuing on her way. Her level of interest seems to depend on the individual dog; with some, she is excited and curious, while with others, she is indifferent and doesn’t pay much attention.

Phoebe currently wears a harness, as she didn’t seem to like wearing a collar. There are no difficulties putting on or taking off the harness. She gets excited when her lead and harness are brought out and she’s ready to go.

Toilet Training:

Phoebe is a good girl with no accidents.

Travel:

Phoebe can be an anxious traveller this could be as she snot used to traveling , this can take time to desensitize her and allow her to get used to the car , because of this we would consider a home 4 hours away with a break in between.

We recommend using a seatbelt restraint or travel crate whenever transporting dogs.

Things to be aware of:

Phoebe is sensitive to loud noises and isn’t a fan of the hoover or the clothes horse. They make her nervous and she will???

Sometimes Phoebe is excited to play but does not realise her size, any young children in the home must be supervised, as bulldogs have the potential to jump and knock children over unintentionally.

Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted.

Additional information:

With the right environment Phoebe’s sweet and affectionate personality will shine even brighter.

Phoebe will be going home on a spay contract, to be completed at a vet agreed with the charity, costs to be covered by the charity 12 weeks post season.

Phoebe’s adoption donation fee is £500 and will need to be paid in full prior to going home which will also be subject to a home check.

A little of Phoebe’s story below,

Please welcome Phoebe (Fi) into her springboard journey!

Sadly, this is yet another stray who found herself in kennels waiting for a rescue to come forward and give her a chance.

We have a relationship with Appledown Kennels where Phoebe found herself, and they reached out to see if we could take her as she was starting to ‘come apart’ in the kennels and was just not coping with it.

So of course, we agreed to take her under our wing.

Earlier this week the Kennels bought Phoebe to her new foster home with Simon and Leah and their English Bulldog Bonnie in the South East.

We want to thank Simon and Leah for agreeing to take Phoebe into foster for us, you are the reason we can do what we do ..!!

So, its very much appreciated.

Phoebe was a little nervous on arrival, which is understandable, and Simon and Leah were taking introductions to Bonnie slowly as it was a big adjustment for both of them. Sadly the girls didn’t mesh well and we had to make the decision to move Phoebe to another foster.

Huge thank you to Kelsey for offering a fabulous foster home for our Phoebe, Phoebe is settling in very well.

We think Phoebe is about 2 years old, possibly a little younger and she appears to be in good health.

Phoebe will be having her vet check next week and then we can organise her spay in due course while she is in assessment.

Welcome to your Springboard Family Phoebe, your new life awaits you!

Thank you as always for your support we couldn’t do what we do without you!
