A BIT ABOUT ME
Personality:
Pippa is a beautiful, and charming lady.
Pippa has a playful and affectionate nature and will happily seek out her people and other dogs in the home.
Pippa thrives on physical affection from anyone and will be happiest at the side of her people.
Behaviour:
Pippa may start of reserved and quiet, but she soon settles into her environment and her beautiful nature develops with a little affection and reassurance.
Pippa is a good girl and understands the majority of commands, although her recall needs work.
Pippa loves to play with toys, dogs and her people.
Pippa will hide in her crate if voices are raised and isn’t a fan of the washing machine.
Needs:
Pippa is well suited to the majority of family environments; she needs a family who will keep her involved in all that is daily life.
Pippa is crate trained, so it is preferable that her new family continue to use a crate at least during the settling in period as it is her safe space.
A garden is a must as she loves to play.
Pippa will benefit from another dog in the home, one who is laid-back but playful and affectionate.
Walk/exercise:
Pippa loves her walks; she walks very well on the lead both alone and in a pack.
Pippa has attended GBSR walks and responded very well meeting unfamiliar dogs and loved all the attention she got from people.
Toilet trained:
Pippa is a very good girl.
Travel:
Pippa travels very well, because of this we will accept applications of up to 4 hours from her current location.
We recommend using a seatbelt restraint or travel crate whenever transporting dogs.
Things to be aware of:
Pippa has dry eye; this will require treatment for the rest of her life. Pippa will need eye drops and lubricant daily.
Pippa will not be rehomed with any dogs with resource guarding behaviours.
Sometimes Pippa is excited to play but doesn’t realise her size, any young children in the home must be supervised, as she has the potential to jump and knock children over.
Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted.
Additional information:
Pippa has absolutely blossomed in front of our very eyes; she is a well-rounded bulldog with so much to give to the perfect family. She has stolen the hearts of all the GBSR admin team. She will make a wonderful family pet.
Pippa’s adoption donation fee is £450 and will need to be paid in full prior to her going home which will also be subject to a home check.
**Every dog rehomed by GBSR receives Rescue Back-up for their whole Life. And the admin team are available for advice and support for the whole of that dog’s lifetime via Messenger, therefore the successful applicant will need to have an active Facebook and Messenger account for the life of the dog. A little of Pippa’s story below,
Pippa in foster
Pippa is the 4th dog we have taken into foster since the weekend
She was discarded by her owners and found wandering the streets with yet again, an unregistered Microchip….!!
You can see she is in a neglected state, filthy and underweight at only 18 kilos.
She has been bred from, and no doubt someone made a good amount of money from her and then dumped her…!!
Huge thank you to Foster Mum Amanda who made the journey to collect this little poppet for us after her 7 days at a kennels was up, it was a shock to see how neglected she was.
On collection, Pippa was extremely raspy with infected eyes, so she was booked in to see the vet straight away, and it’s been confirmed she has a chest infection with possible Kennel Cough and terribly dry eyes that have been left for a long time without treatment.
She also has and interdigital cyst and bare patches of skin on her legs, so she has come away with meds, and a treatment plan which will make her feel so much better in the coming days
She has been an absolute sweetheart in foster with Amanda, she has been no trouble and she is proving to be a real darling of a dog and we think she is going to be a popular girl in the following weeks.
So welcome to your GBSR Journey Pippa, you will soon be flourishing and enjoying the life you should always have had.
Your days of neglect are OVER…!!
