A BIT ABOUT ME

Personality:

Roxy is a playful and energetic girl.

Roxy adores her humans and thrives in company; she will seek you out for attention and affection.

Roxy’s playful and affectionate nature make her an ideal family bulldog.

Behaviour:

Roxy understands some basic commands; however, she chooses when to listen and leave needs more training as she thinks it’s a game.

Roxy is very vocal during play; she enjoys rough play and will play bark and growl. None of which is aggressive she hasn’t a malicious bone in her body.

Roxy loves toys, especially balls.

Needs:

Roxy needs an active family environment with a family who will keep her involved in daily life.

A garden is a must for her, to give her space to play.

Roxy will suit the majority of family settings; she would do well with a playful but laid-back dog in the home, or she could live happily as an only dog.

Walk/exercise:

Roxy loves her walks; she is very good on the lead but will pull if a smell catches her attention.

Roxy enjoys interacting with other dogs whilst out.

Toilet trained:

Roxy is a good girl; she may have accidents initially as she settles.

Travel:

Roxy travels very well, because of this we will accept applications of up to 4hours from her current location.

We recommend using a seatbelt restraint or travel crate whenever transporting dogs.

Things to be aware of:

Any resident dogs in the home must not have any resource guarding behaviours.

Roxy may be prone to ear infection so it is important to have a good knowledge of bulldog husbandry and routine.

Sometimes Roxy is excited to play but doesn’t realise her size, any young children in the home must be supervised, as she has the potential to jump and knock children over.

Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted.

Additional information:

Roxy’s adoption donation fee is £500 and will need to be paid in full prior to her going home which will also be subject to a home check.

A little of Roxy’s story below,

What a time for the rescue world!

The number of dog’s needing us has more than quadrupled.

Please welcome Roxy to our GBSR family.

Roxy is a 3-year-old female who comes to us from a heartbroken family that made the difficult decision to do what was best for her

They reached out to us after experiencing a devastating loss and struggling to care for Roxy while managing a child with ASD. Concerned for both Roxy and their child, they knew they needed to find a safer environment for her.

Sometimes hearing the sadness in an owner’s voice is enough to break your heart. It was clear how much they loved Roxy and were just desperate to make sure she gets the very best life possible.

We had to help!

Join us in welcoming Nicola Lepick and family to our GBSR foster family. Thank you for opening your heart and home to Roxy. And thank you for showing her family the compassion they deserved and helping them feel confident in their decision.

Roxy is now in foster care in Scotland and is settling in beautifully, although she’s not quite ready to share her ball with her foster brother!

She is a lovely young girl with a sweet temperament and is in great condition.

Roxy will be seeing our vet in due course where we will have her booked in to be spayed.

Welcome to your happy ever after journey Roxy, we will keep our promise to your family and ensure you only ever know love and have only the best happy ever!
