A BIT ABOUT ME

Personality:

Sancho is an affectionate and playful boy; he is full of charm with the funniest naughty side.

Sancho adores his humans and is happiest in their company.

In typical bulldog fashion he chooses if and when his ears work.

Sancho loves toys and balls especially.

Behaviour:

Sancho can resource guard food and toys from other dogs, he is best suited to life as an only dog.

Sancho will bark at dog’s that are reactive towards him.

Sancho does enjoy rough play but can get carried away, he will stop when told.

Sancho has taken very well to the visiting grandchildren in his foster home who have additional needs.

Needs:

Sancho needs a calm but active family environment with a family who understands a bulldog’s needs and can continue training to help him reach his full potential.

Sancho needs a confident owner who can put boundaries in place.

A garden is a must for him to play.

Walk/exercise:

Sancho enjoys his walks; he will start his walk pulling at the lead due to excitement this will need ongoing training.

Sancho will ignore unfamiliar dog’s unless they are reactive towards him.

Toilet trained:

Sancho is a good boy.

Travel:

Sancho can be anxious when traveling but does well with reassurance. Because of this we will accept applications of up to 2 hours from his current location.

We recommend using a seatbelt restraint or travel crate whenever transporting dogs.

Things to be aware of:

Sancho has food allergies so must continue on his current diet.

He hates anything electrical i.e. lawn mower, hoover, strimmer, and hedge trimmers.

Sancho has had cherry eye repocket, which has healed very well.

Sometimes Sancho is excited to play but doesn’t realise his size, any young children in the home must be supervised, as he has the potential to jump and knock children over.

Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted.

Additional information:

Sancho is a charming young boy, with a quirky character and will keep you entertained with his playful antics. If you are looking for a dog that you can help thrive and spend your life with then Sancho is your boy.

Sancho’s adoption donation fee is £450 and will need to be paid in full prior to him going home which will also be subject to a home check.

A little of Sancho’s story below,

Just when we think we are full, another soul in need finds us.

Please join us in giving a warm and heartfelt welcome to Sancho one of our newest members of our GBSR family.

A beautiful boy who has been deeply affected by the financial crisis currently gripping the UK.

Sancho’s and Blueberry’s journey to us began when his loving owner, overwhelmed by a relationship breakdown, the responsibility of raising children, and living below the breadline, reached out to us.

She made the heart-breaking decision to part with her beloved pets to ensure they wouldn’t suffer any longer.

Sadly, we recognized the need to separate them for their well-being, we organized an epic road train to bring him to his foster.

A huge and heartfelt thank you to Jemma Hadley Sharp for collecting them from Wales and starting Sancho on his journey. Wanda Kew took on the longest part of the trip, delivering Sancho to his foster mum, Heather Tyler Marchant, who completed the final leg.

Sancho, a sweet 4-year-old mal, has been battling cherry eye, skin issues, allergies and bearing some scar’s.

Despite his health challenges, he remains a gentle soul with humans. Unfortunately, his resource guarding behaviour meant he couldn’t stay with Blueberry, who needed a different environment.

Sancho is now settling in wonderfully with Heather and her family. This is Heather’s first foster journey with us, and we couldn’t be more grateful.

Sancho is thriving as an only dog, showering his foster mum with affection and toys. Loving exploring his new environment, he is an inquisitive little soul.

Separating a bonded pair is never easy, but sometimes it’s necessary for their well-being. Seeing Sancho and Blueberry begin to thrive reassures us that we made the right decision. Sancho is seeking affection and bringing joy to his foster mum.

With lots of TLC and dedicated care, we know Sancho will soon be in tip-top condition, ready to embrace his new lease on life. Welcome to our family, Sancho.

We can’t wait to watch your story unfold!!
