A BIT ABOUT ME

Personality:

Sansa is an affectionately natured bulldog with an abundance of love to give her humans. She will initiate playtime and seek you for affection.

Her charismatic personality and charm will keep you entertained as she clambers on you for cuddles and bum scratches, she likes to sit at your feet if you are watching tv.

Sansa is a typically stubborn sassy girl who will charm you into getting her own way.

Behaviour:

Sansa has a playful nature and loves to play with toys. She will initiate playtime and bring the toys closer to you.

Sansa enjoys rough play and will mouth hands and arms, she also likes to climb, especially on you if you are sat on the floor with her.

Sansa has been learning her basic commands, but this will need ongoing training, she will sit when asked and recall is a work in progress.

Needs:

Sansa needs a calm but active home environment with a family ready to encourage her training and help her reach her full potential.

Dog savvy children who understand a bulldog’s behaviours.

A garden is a must with space to play and exercise.

Walk/exercise:

Sansa walks well on a lead at the heel over short distances.

Due to her ongoing weight issue’s Sansa struggles to walk long distances but her stamina is improving.

Sansa will need 2 walks a day, increasing the length of time as her health and stamina improves.

Sansa is more interested in her environment rather than entertaining other dogs.

Sansa struggles with walking on pavements as she drags her feet, her forever family may wish to consider boots for her, or stick to walking on soft, grassy surfaces.

Toilet trained:

Sansa is a good girl; she will need a regular toileting routine to continue in her new home. Sansa may initially have the odd accident but will soon understand what is expected of her.

Travel:

Sansa travels well but can be excitable and not like to sit still, because of this we would consider a home up to 4 hours away

We recommend using a seatbelt restraint or travel crate whenever transporting dogs.

Things to be aware of:

Sansa will be going home on a “to be spayed” contract, to be completed at a vet agreed by the charity, costs to be covered by the charity.

Sansa must continue on her current controlled diet with regular weight checks and not be allowed to gain weight.

Sometimes Sansa is excited to play but doesn’t realise her size, any young children in the home must be supervised as she has the potential to jump and knock them over

Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted.

Additional information:

Sansa is an amazing little ball of love and laughter who has really thrived during her time in foster. This little girl will be an absolute treasure that any family would be lucky to call their own. Her charm and charisma will keep you entertained for many years to come.

Sansa’s adoption donation fee is £400 and will need to be paid in full prior to going home which will also be subject to a home check.

**Every dog rehomed by GBSR receives Rescue Back-up for their whole Life. And the admin team are available for advice and support for the whole of that dog’s lifetime via Messenger, therefore the successful applicant will need to have an active Facebook and Messenger account for the life of the dog. If you cannot agree to this, please don’t apply**

A little of Sansa’s story below,

A bit about Sansa’s journey ..
Sansa is a 5-year-old and entire female .

We were contacted by the kennels to ask us to help this poor girl. Her and her sister were found terrified wandering the streets alone.
The dog warden was alerted and collected them after a call from the public and took them to kennels.

As you will see from the photo’s this pair are extremely over weight which is very unhealthy for the breed
We can only assume that they were abandoned because of the costs of the vet care they both need.

Sansa has cherry eye and is limping .
Sansa is showing signs of kennel cough which will need treatment, we just her weight doesn’t hinder her breathing as kennel cough is very difficult. . Just to add insult to injury poor Sansa is in season too, so thank god we got her before she ended up pregnant .

The girls are a bonded pair, and its clear they lean on each other for support. They have taken to foster life well and are indulging in every bit of attention, play and affection that they can.
