Dogs name: Skye
Age: 3 years old.
Current location: Taunton, Somerset
I CAN LIVE WITH
Children: Yes, dog savvy children.
Cats: Untested but possible with dog savvy cats.
Dogs: Yes, calm and playful dogs, must be accepting of new dogs in the home, no entire dogs.
A BIT ABOUT ME
Personality:
Skye is a gentle and affectionately natured little girl, who thrives in the company of her humans and companion dogs.
Skye adores children and will seek them for attention and do anything for a cuddle and belly scratch.
Skye is the ideal best friend for anyone in the home, adults, children and dogs alike.
Behaviour:
Skye may start out anxious but over time her confidence grows and her true personality shines through.
Skye is afraid of loud noises, hoovers and plastic bags, she will run and hide from them.
She’s not a fan of rough play, may play with toys occasionally but prefers to chew on an antler. Skye shows no guarding or possessive behaviours.
Skye has been learning her commands and in typical bulldog fashion chooses when her ears work.
Needs:
A calm family environment, with an active family who will keep her involved in all that is daily life.
Skye needs a companion dog in the home, who she can seek affection and attention from when her humans are away.
A garden is a must.
Walk/exercise:
Skye loves her walks; she walks very well on the lead both with or without company.
Skye enjoys meeting unfamiliar dogs and humans and isn’t afraid to put a dog in its place if is being a little too personal with her.
Toilet trained:
Yes, Skye is a very good girl.
Travel:
Skye can start off a little anxious, but with gentle reassurance she will settle. Because of this we will accept applications of up to 4 hours from her current location.
We recommend using a seatbelt restraint or travel crate whenever transporting dogs.
Things to be aware of:
Skye has undergone bilateral entropian surgery, she will be ready to go on to her forever home once she has had he all clear from the vet.
Skye was in season when she came to GBSR because of this she will be adopted on a “to be spayed” contract. Sky will be recalled at the end of May to be spayed, at the vets of the charities choosing, costs covered by the charity.
Skye is trailing 5.4mg Apoquel for potential environmental allergies.
Sometimes bulldogs can be excitable but don’t their realise size, any young children in the home must be supervised, as they have the potential to jump and knock children over.
Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted.
Additional information from Skye’s foster family:
Honestly this girl is so special and just the best and if you are her forever home, she will bring so much love, cuteness and happiness to your home.
The most loving and affectionate girl ever, who gets along with other dogs and humans and just craves love.
Skye’s adoption donation fee is £500 and will need to be paid in full prior to her going home which will also be subject to a home check.

A little of Skye’s story below
Please welcome 3 year old entire girl Skye into our Springboard family
We were alerted to an advert online by Skye’s owner who was having to surrender Skye because of failing health.
We reached out and offered to take Skye so she would be safe and not fall into the hands of greeders.
Skye was collected by Holly yesterday and she is happily mooching about and getting to know Holly’s dog, Beanie
Skye has sore skin and a few potential health issues that we will be speaking to our vet about next week.
Holly bathed Skye last night to sooth her skin and she has started a new diet which will help. We will speak to the vet regarding any treatment required at her vet check.
Skye has also just come into season.
But she is a very happy and sweet little girl, and we are looking forward to seeing her flourish in Hollys care
