A BIT ABOUT ME

Personality:

Stanley is an extremely affectionate and playfully natured boy with so much joy to share.

He is curious by nature and enjoys exploring the world around him, but he also has a wonderfully cuddly side and is happiest when he can enjoy fuss, strokes and a comfy spot close to his people.

Stanley loves interaction and playtime, and although he can be calm when things are quiet, he comes to life when someone engages with him. He is active for his size and enjoys keeping busy, whether that is through play, exploring or gently nibbling on something to occupy himself. His slobbery charm only adds to his character. Stanley is a truly lovely dog with a big heart, and he would make a wonderful lifelong companion for a family who can offer him love, attention and plenty of fun.

Behaviour:

Stanley is a bright, playful and confident boy who loves to be involved in whatever is going on around him. Toys are a firm favourite, and he especially enjoys games of chase and gentle wrestling. He is naturally curious and loves to explore with his nose, taking great interest in new sights, smells and experiences. Despite his enthusiasm, Stanley has a soft and gentle nature, and he is able to settle when the excitement calms down.

Stanley understands his basic commands and is eager to engage with the people around him. He would thrive in a home that can offer him plenty of time, attention and play, and he may particularly enjoy living with another suitable dog or dog-savvy children who can share in his fun. Alongside his love of play, Stanley also adores affection and snuggles, so his ideal family will be happy to give him both activity and companionship.

Needs:

Stanley is looking for an active, loving family who can include him in everyday life and give him the time, attention and enrichment he needs to thrive.

He will do best with adopters who enjoy regular walks and can provide a consistent exercise routine, alongside plenty of play, interaction and opportunities to keep his busy mind engaged.

A secure garden is essential so he can safely enjoy outdoor time, and he may benefit from a playful but calm doggy companion who can share his fun in a balanced way.

Stanley can live with dog-savvy children aged 5+ who understand boundaries and can give him space when needed.

Walk/exercise:

Stanley really enjoys getting out for his walks and is always excited to head off on an adventure.

He can be enthusiastic at the start and may pull on the lead, but he is already showing good improvement with gentle, consistent correction and guidance.

Stanley walks very well both in the company of the resident dog and when he is out on his own. When he sees another dog or person, he may pause, crouch or lie down in anticipation; this is not aggressive behaviour, but his playful way of showing that he would like to interact.

With continued positive handling and a steady routine, Stanley should continue to build confidence and good manners on his walks.

Toilet trained:

Yes, Stanley is a very good boy.

Travel:

Stanley travels very well, because if this we will accept applications of up to 4 hours away from his current location. However, his adopted family must be able to take regular breaks if needed.

We recommend using a seatbelt restraint or travel crate whenever transporting dogs.

**TRANSPORTING DURING WARMER WEATHER IT IS IMPORTANT TO KEEP THE CAR AS COOL AS POSSIBLE**

Things to be aware of:

Stanley is a larger dog, so it will be important for his adopters to support him in maintaining a healthy weight. He should remain on a well-managed, controlled diet and have his weight monitored carefully to ensure he stays fit, comfortable and healthy.

Sometimes Stanley is excited to play but doesn’t realise his size, any young children in the home must be supervised, as they have the potential to jump and knock children over.

Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted.

Additional information from Stanley’s foster family:

Stanley the softy – Stanley has a lot of love to give, he is affection, gentle and patient. He is the perfect snuggle buddy, he loves attention, but he loves playing even more. He is very curious and loves to get his nose into new things, his favourite thing to do is play with his toys. He loves interacting with you and his toys, being chased is a firm favourite and he’s very nibble despite his size. He is a gentle giant and would make a perfect dog for a family willing to devote time and energy to this love bug.

Stanley’s adoption donation fee is £450 and will need to be paid in full prior to him going home which will also be subject to a home check.

Stanley’s story.

Please welcome Stanley to the Geordie Bullies family.

Sadly, Stanley has been surrendered into our care due to his owners relocating because of ill health and being unable to take him with them.

As always, we kindly ask for no judgement. We are grateful to be able to support Stanley’s family during this difficult time and provide them with the comfort of knowing he will be loved and well cared for.

Yesterday, Stanley was collected by his foster parents, Kane and Amy, and made the journey home to meet his foster brother, Hank.

Stanley has bounced his way into his foster home and has made himself right at home! Hank is still a little apprehensive about having a new boy in the house, but we’re sure they’ll soon become the best of friends.

Thank you, Kane and Amy, for opening your hearts and home to Stanley. We hope you enjoy your first fostering journey with us.
