A BIT ABOUT ME

Personality:

Stella is a lively girl, with an incredibly affectionate nature.

Stella adores her humans and is the epitome of companion breed.

Stella is playful and loves seeking out her humans with a toy to play with them.

She much prefers kisses and cuddles to rough play.

Behaviour:

Stella loves to play with toys and can get a little possessive, but Stella is learning the benefits of sharing.

Stella is vocal and can growl during play but responds to being told no, she holds absolutely no malice at all.

In typical bulldog fashion, Stella is head strong, stubborn and will try to get her own way, but with firm boundaries she will soon give in.

Stella can be defensive towards cats if she spots them in the garden and will bark at them.

Needs:

Stella needs an active family home, preferably with someone home for her the majority of the day.

She will need a family that understands the breed and can put boundaries in place and continue training started in foster.

A garden is a must for this girl, as she enjoys exploring her environment.

She will benefit from a calm and laid-back dog in the home, to help her learn new routines.

Walk/exercise:

Stella is an active lady; she loves her walks. But in typical bulldog fashion needs encouragement to get started. However, don’t try and skip a walk because she will let you know.

She walks well both on her own and in company and shows no interest in unfamiliar dogs whilst on her travels.

Stella can be spooked by trucks and large vehicles near busy roads, but with continued support and training this will improve greatly.

Toilet trained:

Yes, Stella is a good girl.

Can be left:

Stella settles well in a crate when left, it would be preferred that she would have one in her new home as it is her safe space and will help her settle. Because of this Stella can be left for up to 4 hours.

Travel:

Stela travels very well because of this we will accept applications of up to 4 hours away from her current location. We recommend either crating a dog or using a seatbelt restraint whenever travelling with a dog.

Things to be aware of:

Stella has seasonal alopecia; this doesn’t require any treatment.

Stella is an active girl and will need a good routine and firm boundaries for her to thrive.

Sometimes she is excited to play but doesn’t realise her size, any young children in the home will need to be 8+ and must be supervised, as she has the potential to knock children over, Stella can also guard toys from other dogs, so it would be best to supervise children around toys to avoid any accidents.

Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted.

Any dog in the home must not have any guarding behaviours and must be accepting of another dog in the home.

Any dog in the home must be neutered.

Additional information:

Stella is a wonderfully natured girl, who stole our hearts the moment she joined our GBSR family. She is very much a human’s dog and will always choose a human’s company over a dogs. If you are looking for that best friend for life, then look no further than the stunning Stella.

A little of Stella’s story below,

Please welcome the lovely Stella to our GBSR family.

Stella is a 4-year-old entire female, unfortunately Stella’s family have had no choice but to surrender her as her owners health has declined rapidly.

Stella’s owner was completely devastated having to make this decision and we can only send our prayers and well wishes that she gets better soon.

We would like to welcome Beck Lyons and her family to their first foster journey with us.

Stella is in foster with Becky’s family in the North West.

Stella is such a sweet little girl and is already getting her foster family trained in how she likes her bum scratched. And she loves to show off her wiggle bum skills too.

Stella is very anxious and unsure of her new foster fur sisters Harley and Maggie and she’s definitely not a fan of poor Penelope the cat.

Stella appears to have a sore eye, and a bit of stiffness in her hip so she will be seeing the vet during the week. She has tear stains and some staining to her paws, but other than that Stella looks really well.

Welcome stunning Stella your forever journey starts now!
